It's an undeniably good photo, but doesn't seem quite up to the high standard of previous PoD's. It just feels a little 'flat'.

It's flat, not a favorite, but a good photo.

It's an ok photo, I'd be proud of it if I had taken it, but it's not POD standard. Maybe if the guy was doing a trick or getting some air, or visibly going really fast, then it would be POD worthy

While this may not be the most flashy awe-inspiring photo, it is remarkable compositionally. Something most people don't take into account when they make their biased 4 second judgement on most PODs
  • 7 9
Why does it have such a great composition? Rule of thirds - not applied, diagonals - barely. Edge sky-ground should be either on 1/3rd or even closer to the middle.
  • 4 3
I agree Joyou...photo is not flashy, but its good shot. BTW...the first rule of "Rule of Thirds" is it meant to be broken. Just as long you know you are breaking it.

Oh... I knew a guy who was drawing lots of dark blokes in his comics. Their hands were too long usualy - he said: it's irrelevant - I draw what's in my head, I don't care how it should be. An artist indeed...

I like the pic, there's lots of things to like in it. But jayou was talking composition and dissing people for not talking about it so... Sorry mate - busted...

BTW - rules of composition are not fkng catholic church ok? They are what they are because vast majority of humans percieve pictures and sculptures in that way. It's like Golden ratio. Lots of wise and skilled people spent all their lives researching those. You can't break any rule with style until you know it to the deep bottom by studying and doing it

It's pretty dark/flat, and I would like to see more of where they're going. Just my first impressions. Good moment though. You got that down. Just tuning the composition and shot a little.
