You can't tell how badass this gap is, but Ratboy here was one of the only guys clearing the hole after this rock. And this rock is slicker than Miami Bryce working a crowd of Quebecois local girls at tonight's after party.

 Wheres the gap?

This is such a bad angle to show the gap, but it's essentially from where he is to the second tree on the left. I have video of a rider doing it, but I genuinely cannot be bothered uploading it, so your imagination will have to suffice.

I'm sure it's a bad ass gap, but I cannot tell at all from the pic. I like your analogy though.

LiamRenaut has this one pegged. I watched Gee case this (as well as a few other top flight riders). It was a tricky line, and Ratboy was one of the first to hit it full tilt and with good style. The problem is that to show this gap as a gap, one needs to shoot from the side and that angle kinda sucks because the course tape's in the way; from front on it doesn't look like much either as the hole is hidden behing a lip. Plus then the mood of this shot is gone. This shot is not a perfect solution, but it was the best solution for this section of track and in the fog. Paris makes mention of that in his caption.

Nothing better than bikes and dense fog on mountain.

Super tough piece of track that; so tricky, physical and slippery!

Cool shot with the mist effect and all, still not 100% sure it's deserving of the glorious POD award though...

Sure, we all bicker about POD's and some deserve the e-hate we dish (insert roadie drift pic here), but how about give whoever gets POD more props and a little less negativity. Firstly, they just got exposed to a massive audience. Secondly, try lugging you're camera gear up and down the hill, when you'd rather really shred the track anyways just to share the stoke with us not present. And thirdly, we get all this awesome content, daily, for free-fifty.

this is how I feel every time people bitch about it. If you dont like it then check back tomorrow. It will be different, still epic, and still free. Use the time you spend arguing about it to go ride your bike

I have carried my gear up and down the hill on many occasions. I do it all voluntary. I don't get paid, I do it to make people happy. But getting your picture in POD is hard as hell here. I got my knee pads on, who does a guy gatta ... I'm not here to dis this photo. I actually think it is a crazy situation here. Flight across the world. Shoot in a place you know nothing about. And your camera could probably get a family a nice flight out of there. Makes you sleep easy. Nice fisheye!! Wink

This shot would still deserve POD even if the rider wasn't even in the shot!
