good observation my friend... it should had it... or four cross that is the same thing... i dont see pump track either... but i think pump track comes from dirt jump... but i think 4x is all mountain section...
Totally Agree! Have you tried road? It is different kind of fun, but still it's a lot of it Maybe real road competition is too serious, but overtaking cars in city is just pure fun
Riding BMX It isn't that hard to have fun. I owned a BMX three weeks ago and right know i can do 360s manuals and stuff like this. And with those easy basics you already have so much fun in the city. I rode also downhill dirtjumped a bit. So I can really recommend you to buy a BMX, also it isn't that expensive then riding downhill just because the street is your park and it is lot harder to destroy. Cheers
Good point mate! I'm thinking of street/dj bike. Since I'm way too tall for cycling in general (6'6") as others see it, a 14" DJ bike looks like a BMX on me But I totally hear what you're saying City is really creative environment to practice and finetune skills, I'm definitely going after the street bike for next season when I heal my broken carpometacarpal joint
@bike trials - yes your the only one, if there are others, my suggestion to them would be not to side with you. you really shouldnt call a sport gay, that doesnt even make any sense, and if you take a step back from the homophobic opinion that you are trying to express, and just looked at your sentence, you might see how stupid it sounds.
@hermit185 i have absolute respect for the unicyclists, thats why i took the time to take the photo and then post it as it seemed relevent to the topic but I have to partially agree with bike trails. When you see one of these wobbly by at low speed, regardless of skill they do look a bit gay. ( and i dont mean homosexual, just a little wierd and foolish. (gay is a term often used in this context for us brits without offence intended to the homosexual community))
bikeracer.... f*ggot "cyclists" like you split your effort over 10 diiferent styles of riding and suck at everything but us BIKERS (straight people) put all our effort into one style of riding (DH the only not gay style) and get good at it and stop sucking fat dick at riding
biketrails.... call me a n*gger f*ggot all you want but you were hating on unicyles how different is that from me hating on your precious (also Gay as hell) non DH riding styles
Wow someone who only does DH. it's sad that you miss out on all the great descents that can only be reached by pedaling to the top. There will come a day when you will see the relevance of all aspects of biking. Until then thanks for saving the good trails for us!
once upon a time a man invented a beautiful flying machine with spinning blades and it could land on top of mountains with bikes and they rode down... no gay riding up, no gay tight clothes, no gay 4" and 4" bikes, no gay half cut helmets; just pure wide bar, neck brace, full face, double crown, goodness
f*ck yeah DH....but respect the other types of riding, just choose not to do them. You should be thankful that there are other styles of riding that attract people and keep the gnarly single track open for us dh guys otherwise the good tech trails would be clogged up with noobs
If there was just DH I probably would be shit at DH, but other styles of riding develop skills vital for DH, and if you think about it Enduro is basically softcore DH with a bit more pedalling. DH ftw, but AM,BMX,DJ,4X ect. are all awesome too. But im sorry to say I hold little respect for roadies that think they own the road.
@ fix-the-spade Right there you have managed to perfectly summarize all my riding for the last ten years or so. Perhaps it should be an actual discipline
If the question was what would I like to ride then I'd also be able to tick slopestyle but anything made from wood is being destroyed my way. Still love DJ and DH- but would wish more slopestyle courses were allowed to be built.
I don't understand how people can be so narrow minded about their riding style. I would more than happily try every single one of these if I could, at the end of the day it is all biking
seriously. at what point does "XC" become "aggressive XC" or "trail" or "all mountain"? I'm sure what a lot of people are calling "All Mountain", they call "cross country" in BC...
I think it's just marketing names for certain types of bikes. 4" is XC, 5" trail, 6" all mountain. It doesn't really matter in the end as long as your bike fits the trails you ride so you can get the most out of them...
you forgot a category: commuter. probably put more time in trying to dodge cars and staying alive sharing the road with motorized vehicles than I do on dirt...
If there was such a thing as downhill road cycling.... I would do that. Downhill and freeride is my life. I love that speed, hicking big jumps, and flying (not off my bike).
Love mountain biking. DS = Scalp or V10 if I build it AM = Nomad (longer shock and 2degree offset headset to make it work much better) Enduro = Azure, such a good and cheap bike these days, mint with a 140mm fork. XC = Azure/Dialled PA Jump = Jawbone BMX = Dialled MX20
