Much better than the old Stiffy due to new lower sidewalls and on top lower weight. Simply sets new standards for wide rims. Mine weighs 665 & 667grams - so 14g lighter than claimed (color black, I suppose the other colors will be 20g heavier).

It's stiff as hell (according to my wheelbuilder stiffer than Mavic 823) and with 34.5mm inner width (outer width is in reality 39mm not 40mm though) at that weight there is simply no other rim on the market that can match it. Due to the really low flanges and huge width, you can go very low tire pressure without either the tire feeling wobbly (like on smaller rims like ZTR Flow) nor snakebiting. Coming from ZTR Flow I can decrease pressure in my 1.5ply 2.4" freeride tires from about 1.8bar to 1.2bar on the rear wheel, and 1.5 to 1bar on the front wheel. Lotta more traction and much more grip, as well as much damper. 1.5ply tires feel like 2ply tires on a standard 23mm inner width rim.

Theese rims really gave me much more confidence for vertriding and DH. Heck the additional 200g over ZTR Flows, are easily saved on tires if you want to go riding allmountain, and pay off without any doubts for Freeride/DH/Vertride.

2.35" tires actually build up wider and higher volume than 2.5" tires on standard rims (my 2.35 Intense Intruder goes 65mm wide on the Stiffy, vs 61mm on ZTR Flow)

Actually lower weight than Mavic 729, stiffer, better flanges hence fewer snakebites/less dents and tubeless compatible. If you don't need get the Spike Evo rims, they are mighty fine too, and weigh in 70g less.

For me best alu rim ever... (well it could still be lighter and holding up the same abuse, but suppose it would need to be made from carbon in that case, and then I couldn't afford it).

I've run them on a Jekyll since 2011. They are bomb proof wheels. Laced to King hubs everyone always drools over these wheels. Now with the plus size craze everyone always asks is it a plus size bike. No its a 5 year old 26r. These hoops are the best 26 hoops I've ever owned.

Spank 2011 Stiffy EVO 40AL (MSRP $0) — Our unique patented Oohbah™ profile with inverted tube well, increases rigidity immensely compared with rims currently available. Additionally the Oohbah™ allows us to optimize the design and drastically reduce weight to offer the toughest performance hoops in their price to weight ranges.
