great set up, easy maintenance. get the metallic pads tho! I upgraded from dot4 to 5.1 fluid as the dot4 cooked on a good run. new parts readily available and easy to fit yourself. except for my hope mono 4 monsters, I havnt used much else that's better. go for 185 and 203 discs. the 160 aint up to much. 4.5 out of 5 for me.

 Pros:
- Great quality brakes. Superb stopping power.
- Pad contact adjust is brilliant.
- The floating adjustment bolts to adapter are great/simple for tuning and minimizing disc rub.
- Lever adjust is brilliant too. (So useful)

Cons (but not really):
G2 Cleensweep rotors could be a little stiffer. Mine have warped a tiny bit even after good care. I'm using 203mm 8".

these brakes are great ican't find anything wrong with them they are great downhill,xc,freeride, allmountain, street brakes. i ride them on a six 1
and it slows it down no problem and easy to bleed. I was a big hayes fan but but I hated the fact that i had to bleed them every day cause of brake fade but i can garenty that these brakes will not do that. the only thing i have to say is the levers are not as strong as you think so recomend puting on straightline, or dangerboy levers on them.

These are the best brakes ive ever rode. the list of good points is too long, they have great feel and contol, super easy maintenance and barely ever need touching, great adjustments, and more reliable that any other break i have had.

Theese brakes are recommenced for All mountain riding but are more then capable of Dh/freeriding, They are fairly light have great adjustibility, good modulation and easy to set up. If you need new brakes go out and buy theese!

They Juicy 7 is a superb brake. Some people say that the brake feels a little too squashy for them, but for me that is what I love in a brake. both levers being the same and the resivour being on the inside means that you can swap the lever around from each side of the bar without having to buy a new lever. It has great modulation and the lever is comfortable for using one, or two fingers whilst braking.

Came standard on my Iron Horse 6.6 and really like them once I had teh contact dialed in properly. Very simple set up once I bothered to look at how it worked. The brakes themselves beeded in very fast and with no problems. I took the bike to the alps for the mega and had no major problems except my ability so had some brake fade in the rear brake, but that was my lack skill in long decents rather them not coping.

I've been using the Juicy 7's and Juicy Carbon's for years. After using Hayes forever, I was sick of their inconsistancy. At first the Juicy's were a bit noisy, but since about 2008 they've got these dialed in. No noise, easy to bleed and no fading.

as front one, good lever modulation, easy to bleed, if proper ajusted makes wonders, well modulated break time from XC to DH covers all the range, ambidextrous, as well not too heavy, wide variety of pad's and easy to find. In combination with good pads and settings It stops like hell !!

When I decided to pick up a used pair of juicy sevens I must admit I was skeptical. I was riding a set of magura louises for over a year and was very happy with them. but they were getting old and there lives were over so I picked up a set of juicy sevens and was very happy with them my set had some gold Stritline leavers *drool* and I was using a 8 inch shimano rotor in the front and a seven inch shimano rotor in the back. The first thing I noticed was the power in the front brake. It was amazing. I also love how the brake clicks out in a crash as not to break the levers this was a great feature considering how easy it is to snap there leavers. So its also a great idea to get some aftermarket levers like the straitline ones they also encourage one finger braking. overall I think this a great brake and i strongly reccomend it.

I run them on all my bikes Niner sir 9 and Titus RX 29er. Awsome right out of the box then when you start adjusting and tinkering with them they get even better. great feel and modulation control allong with lever reach and on the fly pad adjustment.

Nice feel at the lever, powerful, reliable, easy to adjust and set up ergonomically. Modulation could be better but isn't as evident during high speed breaking. I haven't experienced any fading or finicky behavior on long descents.

Avid Juicy Seven (MSRP $190) - Any way you look at it, the Juicy Seven has always been hard to beat. It set the bar for hydraulic brake performance years ago, and it never stops pleasing riders from every discipline in the sport. Honestly, it makes you wonder what else you could want in a brake. Pad Contact-Point Adjustment Setting the exact point where your fingers are when the brakes grip is huge. It means you choose the best-feeling position for your hand, and that means predictable performance from the brake. Indexed reach adjustment Our reach adjuster does just what you’d expect, only in typical Avid fashion, it does it better. It’s indexed, so one click moves the lever 1mm.

Great brakes that you can find now for cheap! They're a bit lacking on the power, but have awesome modulation. It might not save you from running into a tree (it didn't save me), but they're super modulation and lack of power make you brake less and more smoothly so you can hit those runs faster!

Easy to set up, use with CLARKS ORGANIC pads from Chain reaction which are cheap and work like a dream. The caliper pistons need cleaning every now and then to ensure they don't drag. Do this by removing the pads push the pistons fully out in the caliper, clean with alchol, then WHEN DRY lube with a quality oil such as finish line suspension oil. push the pistons back in and out during the cleaning / lube process. I do this every time I change the pads and guess what have fantastic breaks as a result. I worked this out AFTER suffering brake drag and lots of hard work keeping up with the gang!!!

After being a long time (loyal) Hayes brake owner, I needed an upgrade from my Hayes Nine. The Hayes Stroker's (when they first came out) had a brake fade problem which Hayes acknowledged but said it would be fixed in the next version/generation (which they did) but I was in need of soemething sooner and my LBS had these for $120 (USD) each.

I've run these for over a year in wet and dry conditions and have not failed me once!

I swapped out the stock brake pads for a set of EBC "Red" and the stopping performance increased to where I have to use a real light touch on the levers - STICKY!

I only have two gripes - the first is that pad switching is a PITA. It takes practice. The second gripe is the lever itself. This is more of a personal gripe as I'm too use to the curve of the Hayes's Nine stock lever and the Danger Boy "Shorty". Fortunately there are still a few Danger Boy "Shorty" levers floating around eBay and on the shelves of some Danger Boy resellers.

Overall, a great set of brakes for those on a budget.

Some of the best brakes i have ever owned! I use them for downhill and once you have them setup you can just forget about them. Bleeding them is a bit of a pain and the kit is too expensive, apart from that they are amazing brakes!

The juicy seven is a plush good looking break to have on any bike, the pad contact control is usefull once new pads have been put in, so you can get the same lever feel as you used to. i like the fact that when you push them out they 'click' so as not to break in a crash, it is also useful for getting the levers out of the way when doing one-handers. all in all a good break with a comfy lever, great for one finger breaking.

I have been these brakes on my Giant STP with 160mm rotors.

I ride downhill on my STP and find this brake is quite light and provided plenty of stopping power. Build quality is good and they are very easy to set up.

Cons - I think I've damaged one of the thread in the lever body for the bar clamp but that was probably me doing something wrong.

These brakes also get very noisy at times especially if they get wet.

Overall - Very good brakes with plenty of power.
