I have the 2007. Excellent bike. Simple and intelligent rear suspension means that the single pivot has progressive travel. The linkage at the top also stabilizes the back end, making it a stiff bike as well.

To make it a really useful FR bike for practical reasons, it should have a travel adjust in the front. I find the derailleurs questionable, but work well if you tune them right.

The 2009 model has some benefits over the 2007: DHX4.0, Saint cranks/derailleurs/shifters, brakes seem a tossup - Hayes to Saint.

I am not a fan of propedal, so I switched my Fox for a true lockout so I can deal with the long climbs, but have good suspension for the trail, so the 2007-2009 upgrade from Fox Van to 4.0 is irrelevant to me.

Helluva bike! There are a few parts that can be switched around to make it more appropriate for each rider, but as a general bike (frame), there is really very little room to improve.

Overall 5 stars for 2007. 5 stars for 2009 too!

The bike of choice for my wife and me. We ride these bikes allover. Park, downhill, xc, and uphill. Try that on your demo. Best do all work horse Iv ever owned. Had to get rid of those fox shocks and put on a Cane Creek DB coil. Wow will it climb now. I also love the Totem solo air for a upgrade.

I have the 09' model. The Most stable and fun bike all around I have ever riden hands down! Not up the hills even though it climbs much better than anticipated.

Amazing bikes! I've owned one for not to long but love them so much. Drawbacks are due to its age, now a days you can not find any bushings for the linkage.
