This bike is a heavy beast! Especially for a 140lbs rider like myself. But it doesn't feel that way when you ride it. The only time the bike feels heavy is if you have to hike it up a hill or pick it up a flight of stairs. It's bike park capable and comfy on local trails. I even slap on some slicks and commute with mine.

Wanted a bike i could take DH also ride some XC, this bike was the best of both worlds and performed amazingly well in all conditions. I would 100% recomend this to any rider who wants a fantastic all round bike.

After 2011 they change the Magic link, that was good. I still have my Coilair since 2011. Bolts came of several times from the "Magic Link". After I got a new link, things are still bad. Heavy crank and cogs. Almost 17 kg, 37,47 pounds. Entry level that can take some abuse.

Kona 2011 CoilAir (MSRP $2799) — You could call it, "the One bike." It can huck, climb, ride epics, and descend down to the doom. With our patented Magic Link rear suspension technology, the CoilAir features stiff, upright geometry for climbing, then intuitively morphs to slack, plush rear travel when things get serious. It even has the ability to automatically grow rear suspension from 130mm to 200mm, just like that. New for 2011, we've added a Fox 36 180mm Talas fork with adjustable travel that fits into a double stacked internal tapered steertube for added stiffness, stability and sexiness. Ride far. Ride it all.
