I rode a 180mm version and had medium springs, which should have been good seeing how i way 150 lbs. but i just couldnt get over the fact of how rough the bottom out was, maybe mine was defective, but i doubt it. Stay away from manitou i think theres a reason not very many pros use it. Go with RockShox or Fox. Marzocchi has also kinda gone under on quality and performance within these last 2 years.

Pretty sick fork. It's a little heavy but that hasn't stopped me from riding up some gnarly hills with it. Travel is buttery smooth and rebound tunes really easy on the hill. Very nice fork for DH and FR. Definitely recommend

This is the best fork I've had. Precise travel and easy to tune. It feels plush yet stable. You can setup absolutely everything in it (HSC - shims, LSC- dial, HSR - shims, LSR - dial, progression - IFP chamber, initial damping resistance - IFP pressure and change the spring)

Over time it will have issues with the seals of the damper but with proper servicing and TLC it will ride as good as new in no time. Oh and did you noticed the price? Wink

Got mine at a bargain price brand new off ebay,
smoothest fork I've ridden,
doesn't blow up like everyone claims they will,
haven't serviced mine since i bought them, still super smooth (to be fair haven't been abused)

I came off Boxxer onto these and I have to say these are WAY better. Very supple and compliant to small bumps, they feel like butter.

Manitou Travis Triple 180-203 Intrinsic (MSRP $899) — The world's fastest fork! This is the same fork that Markus Stoeckl took down a Chilean mountain at 130.7mph in September, 2007. At that kind of speed, you probably want some good technology between you and your front wheel. The Travis has plenty. The question is, how fast can you take it?

Specifications Compare to other Forks

Release Date 2009
Price $899
Weight 3538.02 g
Color Options Primer or Grandma's Lipstick
Travel 180 - 203 mm
Travel - refers to the distance the wheel can move in respect to the frame. Typically measured in millimeters, most forks range from 80 to 203 mm of travel
Spring Coil
Crown Dual
Body Type One piece Reverse Arch (RA) Magnesium
Rebound Rebound, Compression, Cartridge Air
Rebound - is how quick your fork returns to a fully extended position after being compressed. Almost all after-market forks feature external rebound adjustment for easy fine tuning.
Stanchion material 34mm Gold Al
Steer Tube 1.125
Damping Cartridge Air Backed IFP Intrinsic
Damping - The process of absorbing the energy of impacts transmitted through the forks or rear shock during the compression stroke, and absorbing the energy of the spring during the rebound stroke.
DropOut Options 20mm
Compression IFP Intrinsic
Compression - This is the damping circuit that absorbs the compression energy force on the damper. Compression damping is used to adjust how quickly a fork or rear shock compresses when hitting a bump, and is adjustable on some products. When compression damping is too soft, this condition allows most of the available travel to be used without attaining control of the wheel. When it's adjusted too firmly, the wheel will jump or "dance" about when hitting small bumps, again failing to gain control of the wheel.
