The Mongoose brand has been pushing hard for a come back the last few years and 2009 may very well be the year they get it done.
The Boot’r team is Mongoose’s DH race bike.
The $3999 MSRP Boot’r is a great looking bike that doesn’t let you down when you get it on the dirt. First impressions make a big difference in the high end bike market, and Mongoose has it nailed this time. The powder blue matte finish with Orange highlights is tastefully done and the paint itself seems like it would hold up well. Included is a velcro stick on chainstay protector to silence the chain a little bit and keep the paint looking new.
The Boot’r was one of the only bikes I felt comfortable on right off the bat, largely in part due to being able to dial in the Elixir CR brakes. The frame itself was well sized in large for me at 6'2". The 65.5 headtube seemed perfect nice the bike settled into the travel. but on some small uphill Straightaway handling was fantastic with the RockShox Vivid rear shock really sucking up the terrain but still leaving the bike maneuverable. The boot’r jumped off all of the natural rock doubles on the course with ease, never feeling like you were entirely glued to the ground like with some DH bikes.
Overall the boot’r is a fantatsic bike, especially for the budget minded downhiller. You will get a great handling frame with a fantastic spec, for less money than many people spend on frame/fork alone.

One of the best bikes of 2009! The freedrive system is amazing! Perfect for DH/FR riders. If you want a bike that hauls ass going down hill and has amazing acceleration on flats. The Boot'r(team) is your bike! I give it a 10/10!!!!

The Mongoose Boot'R is an awesome bike for the money!! Great geometry, plush and responsive.. I can blast this rig through some of the most unforgiving rock gardens all day long and it's always ready for more. All around fun bike to ride.

This is a truly amazing bike... cant get anything better for the money. Mongooses suspension setup is superb, barely an pedal bounce. The components are high quality. Bike is lightweight. Mongoose really did it this time 10/10

I have had the bike for a month now and love it. I truley does pedal like a cross country bike but at the same time rides like a DH. So far i have no problems with anything on it.

Best Bike I have ever ridden. Not a plow bike, but once its dialed, can't be stopped. Best replacement you can make for it is getting a boxxer air on the front and replacing the 30mm rise bars for some 50mm rise.

Its a great bike at a good price and it is very durable, the brakes could be better on steep continuous braking they tend to lose braking power. Other than that its great but the seat sucks.
