Well I would say that this is a good deraileur, it shifts pretty well, stiff spring, and can take a pretty good beating. I have jumped down stairs with it, off drops, and been down trails and around bmx tracks. Today however, I jumped a rather small 3 foot miniramp and flatground landed about 10 feet away and the derailleur decided to flex into my spokes, and then my rear wheel just ripped it off and took it around. Did I mention that I have only had it for about 6 weeks.

I have been using LX derailleurs for 10 years and finally bought the new technology. WOW. Stiff springs, great clearance, burly construction, smooth shifting right out of the box, believe the hype. Running fantastic with even a used 11-32 Shim. cassette. Paid 79.99 plus tax.

If you have a tight budget but want a product that will last Shimano SLX is your best bet! I run a full SLX Chainset, Cassette, Deraillers and Shifters - they work like a dream! Very smooth shifting and great application of power!

Bought this derailluer a few months ago and put it through some real abuse and has held up very, very well. It shifts fairly smooth and is easy to adjust. Not a bad choice for little money.

smooth shifting, hasn't died after 6 months, easy to adjust, looks sick, low profile means that it hasn't been hit by any rocks on the trails
