The VP-VX Trail is built to provide more stability and more shoe/pedal contact in an SPD® compatible pedal. If you want value, durability and stability while still keeping the weight to a minimum, the VX Trail is your pedal. The VX Trail features a forged, CNC machined, and heat treated Cromoly axle for strength. The VX Trail uses our tried and true LSL and double sealed cartridge bearing system with wide bearing placement for the right mix of low-weight and durability.
The VP-VX Trail is part of the VX Series - our all new SPD® compatible pedal line-up.

Style - Pedal’s are only found in 2 different syles, flat and clip. Flat pedals are most common; consisting of a platform you place your foot on, and usually some pins for traction. Clips are more cross country, or racer orientated, meaning you are strapped into the pedal.

It hasn't required any maintenance yet and clips in/out smoothly, It has adjustable tightness (from very easy in/out to very tight).
Overall the VP-VX Trail is a very solid pedal. It's been scratched a little as I've ridden and banged them into rocks, but clipping mechanism is in perfect condition.
Overall, they are very well priced for the pedal and include the cleats. I would recommend them.
