About The Trailer

Seasons takes us to a visual standard we have never witnessed before. A benchmark in terms of artistic creativity, production professionalism and rider achievement, it takes us through an oasis of visual stimulation and auditory pleasure.

Showcasing the four seasons of a year and seven of the riders who indulge in it, The Collective has successfully captured the average year through a professional rider's eyes, and created an outstanding movie that showcases everything we ride for.

About The Contest

Seasons Recut is a contest to show off your creativity as a editor and win. You are provided with 10 minutes of raw footage from the new Seasons film, and it is your job to edit up to a 2 minute video teaser. You can use your own sound track, your own effects, transitions, and arrange the footage in any way you like. The top 3 teasers will receive amazing prizes including being featured in the bonus section of the Seasons DVD.

Here's how you do it:

  1. Download the raw video files.
  2. Edit the files with your favourite editing program(s).
  3. Export and upload your trailer to Pinkbike.com.
  4. Win prizes (read more below).

Make Your Trailer

So you want to start editing? Well, first off, you have to download the footage. Once you have done so, import it into your editing program, and get started. Grab the raw footage from here.

Now you can create your own unique trailer. Your trailer should be no more than 120 seconds long, using only the provided footage, and your own choice of music. For import settings we suggest using a new sequence set at the following:

  • Frame Size: 640 x 480 –
  • Editing Timebase: 23.98 fps.
  • Rate: 48 kHz
  • Depth: 16 bit.
  • Compressor: H.264 High Quality (Min 3 Mbit/sec)
For exporting, we suggest doing so as a QuickTime Movie with the following settings:
  • Compression: H.264 (Min 3 Mbit/sec)
  • Quality: High
  • Key Frame rate: 24
  • Size: 640x480

Upload Your Trailer

When your teaser is complete, head to the video upload page and upload it to the video category labeled “Seasons Recut". When you upload your video, you are automatically entered into the contest; if you are the lucky winner, you will be contacted via email.

Judging

Judging will be carried out by members of The Collective Film's crew. The teaser will be reviewed by the film crew, producers, developers, sponsors and you, the participants.

Three videos will be chosen according to three different criteria - overall editing skills, mood/atmposphere, and viewers' choice.

Prizes

The winning entry will be announced on Pinkbike.com and the Collective's websites and will be used in the bonus section of the Seasons DVD.
