Pinkbike Poll: Long Travel Single Crown Forks
Every once in a while some writer guy who has been around for a while (he thinks) has a new idea about the direction cycling should go and gives his opinion on what is needed for everyone. Why not put single crown short travel forks on motocross bikes because tracks are not rocky? Well to each his own. YOU rock the shortie travel fork. I am staying with my old school freeride 7" over kill forks as long as I can. Some DH needs a little climbing to get to it and a full on DH bike will not cut it. Sure you can get up on an AM bike but is it as much fun on the return ride down? Fun factor is the reason most people keep on riding year after year. A few years from now some cool guy is going to come up with a new idea and say big travel is back and is the new thing. You take a 140MM fork and ride it at a ROCKY bike park all day for 2 days because a 17 year old kid can ride whistler slopestyle on it and it's all he needs to compete. Check the fun factor after 2 days of 6hr + riding on 140mm fork. (not a 200mm dual crown DH bike because this is an all arrounder and it's all you need!!!!!
