Enduro World Series Round Six: Val D'Isere - Sunday Racing

Sorry guys, I have to disagree. Penalties have to be enforced especially early on. Otherwise it would be even less fair. If you have to wear something then you have to wear it no matter what. If the rule is unreasonable the rule should change, but until then the rules should be enforced. EVERYONE knows to wear a helmet and number in a bike race.

Video: It Pays to be Courteous

No (never ridden one), but we had some horse organizations attend one of our leaders summits for race league I'm coaching for. They were very supportive and expressed that they work hard to educate their members about bikes. Also, about half of the trails around me only exist because horse riders built them. I have respect for those who make my passion for riding possible.

Question: why don't they time the climbs? Answer: climbs always take much longer than descents. Due to that, any race that includes long climbs will be won by the person with the most climbing ability almost to the exclusion of descending ability. Also, it will favor climbing-centric bikes. Enduro is intended to be a format that favors a mix of skills and equipment. Therefore, it cannot be exactly like XC or DH. Yes, this does often result in a less competitive vibe, and many people enjoy that.
