R.I.P. Chris "Monk Dawg" Vasquez - Legendary Wrench
One of the first guys I recognized at my first Sea Otter many years back. I remember just watching him work and the constant flow of friends and fans dropping by to say hi. He always a big smile and something nice to say. I thought this guy is the Happy Buddha of Biking. My condolences to all who knew him. Peace man.

Stranger than Fiction - Opinion
I've had a number of strange moments where things all of a sudden just didn't feel right. Worst was a late afternoon in fall while bush wacking trying to scout a trail build alone. About 100 feet away I heard something stomping coming my way. I couldn't see what it was due to tall thick shrubs and I was downhill between me and whatever. It sounded freaking huge and two legged. Sorta shook the ground as it walked. Then my heart did. I called out out of sheer panic. It veered a bit and passed, probably came within 20 feet of me. Had to go toward where it had come from to get back to my truck a few miles away. Nothing to defend myself but my keys. No clue what it was. Definitely the most scared I've ever been. Really fun article Mike! From comfort of my couch. Still...the forests are for wild things, wouldn't have it any other way. It was a bigfoot, troll or large fanged creature!

Behind the Bike: Developing the XXL Santa Cruz V10
Great story. The SCS are giants, skills and stature. Awesome to hear the dialogue the team has with one another. Great machines makes great machines. Communication is king.
