With the Enduro season in full swing and the dust settling at last weekend's Ard Rock Enduro. One group of professional athletes are letting you into their thorough training regime secrets
at a secret training camp in Conwy, North Wales

Dickhead Syndicate
Introducing the Dickhead Syndicate.

Dickhead Syndicate
Tom Makin (Steve Peat Syndicate).

Dickhead Syndicate
Benjamin Goulding (TCH Factory Racing)/

Dickhead Syndicate
Jimmy Nixon (Factory Dickhead Elite Racing Corp).

Dickhead Syndicate
Tom Hale (TCH Factory Racing).

The secret to success is simple really, training, camping out sometimes for entire seasons and strava stalking. A healthy diet is optional and alcohol is essential. Women are a no-no, you will find that they flock towards you, but I must stress to stay strong.

Dickhead Syndicate
Sit back, grab a brew (booze optional) and enjoy the antics of a bunch of absolute Dickheads

The whole Enduro term is well and truely getting thrown about negatively these days. You only race Enduro, you don't go for an Enduro ride. It's called riding your f@"king bike down some trails aka mountain biking

Will everybody be normal please

It's enduro if you have a numberplate and when you havent its... what's that word again... oh, allmountain.
  • 3 1
all Mountain is also a term made up by the industry. I prefer saying that I am riding trails

I disagree. I use the term Enduro freely to describe the kind of riding I do: Which is working my way up to the top to focus on the decents. And typically 3-4 "stages" with painful "liasons" on every trail ride. I have an Enduro Bike, and I go for Enduro Rides, but I don't race Enduro. (cuz I crash when I race...)

Saying you're an enduro rider is a bit like saying "I'm a mountainbiker, but don't worry, it's cool, I'm not one of those shaved legged lycra guys".

Saying you're an enduro rider kind of like means that you are a downhill racer by heart but don't have ski lift access. You're in it for the thrills and action. It makes sense to me.

A for trail, all mountain and enduro; these words are quite handy when you want to describe the kind of bike you're looking for.

@FlorianTHT: but i bought an 'All Mountain' bike years ago, are you telling me it's not really for all the mountain? Where can I ride it? Or should i chop it in for an Enduro bike...?
  • 1 0
@w0dge: yeah you can ride it everywhere but you primarily use it on trails because if you wouldn't ride trails, a 29" hardtail would have been the better choice

Its Enduro mate not Mountainbiking anymore, that term is old now.
Enduroing
Enduro riding
Riding your Enduro Bike to Tesco
Enduro dreaming
Mountain enduro biking
Asphalt enduroing
Etc......
Big Grin

@mb00033: How about if I try to do this Enduroing stuff, on my Fat bike, do you think the universe could implode?
  • 2 0
@w0dge: That would even cooler, it would be "PhatDuroing" and the whole world will implode and explode again and in theory we will have a new bigbang.

6min 33sec of my life I'll never get back. Middle aged men arsing about acting 15 riding bikes steadily down some gentle slopes. purleeeeeeeease!

I agree, this was just bad. Trying to be funny wayy too hard... Until I found your comment I thought maybe it's just me as Germans have no humor, so thank you ^^
  • 3 1
@mazze: don't worry, non-German people can have no sense of humor too Wink

I only ride Enduro... but seriously, I miss the days when I could go out for a ride and not be looked at funny for things such as: Wearing a pack, not having waterbottle mounts, not wearing a wife beater, and owning a bike more than a year old. Not to mention such things as: not saying "bro" every 2-5 minutes, not owning a TLD A1, not having more 5-10's than regular shoes, I could go on...
A little much d-bagery these days

1.A guy presenting himself as a member of Steve Peat Syndicate in a video called Dickhead Syndicate - not sure about that. 2. You don't need weird clothing, you ride a baby blue bike with pink decals that costs 10 grand. 3. Enduro specific jokes are kind of blaise. It's not 2013 You guys surely rip better than me but Matt Denison is the king of MTB commedy.

Saw the word syndicate so I was pretty happy. They have made amazing videos so far. Then I watched it and didn't really get it. Sorry lads. Keep it up though. Anyone riding is good. But don't take the piss out of me because I have a tube taped to my frame
