Video: Marcelo Gutierrez Takes the Win in Tocancip√°
The title goes to the highest placing National. For example, if Gwin happened to be in the area and wanted to do the race for the fun of it (which is allowed as far as I know) and won and Marcello came 2nd - Gwin would not be Colombian National Champ, Marcello would.

Red Bull Rampage 2014: The Godfather Speaks
But tell someone to google Red Bull Rampage and they will find all sorts of vids to watch - cyber accessible. I believe last year and this year they also featured it on NBC? a month or two after the event. Major US TV network exposure, I'd say that's pretty big for a very niche subsection of MTB.

Rampage - A Blank Canvas
There will be wood. Which is a shame as the resounding answers from the riders is they don't want it.

Course Preview: Claudio Does the World Champs XC Eliminator
^^^Exactly, ALMOST beating the best LOCAL downhillers, ie not even beating the locals therefore unlikely to smoke most of the regulars on the WC DH circuit. No doubt he has skills and is still faster than 90% of us arguing about this though. This video and track look shit, it's like living in a trailer park and making up a little route to take you round the park and back home again like you do when you're 5 years old.

Exclusive: Sam Hill's Secret Weapon
RC, sucked in by the marketing. Yes, a lower pressure tyre will have effect on the initial bump absorption before the suspension is even considered. Yes, a lower pressure on the first point of contact (main tyre cavity) which then stiffens up as you blow through the tyre to the stiffer inner tube (again without considering suspension yet) similar to high/low speed compression on a fork make sense. These are all just benefits that are inherent to this type of system whether moto or MTB, just marketed from a slightly different angle to make it sound like less of a replica of the well established moto versions. That being said if it gives good grip, less tyre rolling/burping and better traction it'll be all good. Except it will be an absolute bastard to fit.
