You could try using a stainless steel tiny hose clamp. Screw adjustable too.

nope, no insurance - yep i know i am stupid. My g/f went to the ICBC office about a month ago to get it but they said we both had to be there and we hadn't yet made the time to go together.
Im considering taking my maintenance guy to small claims court as he knew his truck was broken into at 6:30am and had at least a couple of hours to notify us that someone had our keys and address.
