Why does it seem that Fox products require an automatic visit to the tuners to get the the shock and fork working properly? They call it tuning, but surely thats what teh adjustments are for. I would love some of those aircan spacers Neil got on his bike - why doesnt every shock come with a set? They are costly and you only need one of the three in the packet. As for the super divey CTD fork ... My next one is going to be a RS.
" Feels more solid with the 36 on the front " .... and yet not a single bike is being sold with 36's on the front.. wimpy 34's with 15mm axles... come on !
Chatted to him at the Trans Savoie and he was running 650b wheels in a 26" front fork and had more clearance in the front than the rear. makes you wonder why you would bother with 650b specific 34 fork??
2 things strike me odd - A) they put a fox 36 (designed around a 26" wheel) on a 27.5 bike - fox told me the other day to 'never do this'. and B) Santa Cruz product managers say that the Float X does not ride as well as the the Float CTD on the Bronson thus they will never offer it with the Float X - why - because they designed the Bronson around a boost value shock and the Float CTD.
Santa Cruz know what they're talking about and spend alot of time thinking about the spec of the bike to make it work best for you. If they say it's best with a ctd then I'd believe them. I've been riding a bronson with ctd and set up 150mm front and rear for a while now and sell and fix them for a living and I can happily say i love it in every situation. big jumps, big drops, seriously rocky terrain and climbing too. they know they're stuff. I'd listen to them only trying to help
Tried it, crashed it, destroid it, my knee not the trail
interesting.....
