The news about the X Games Munich Mountain Bike Slopestyle event being the first Diamond event in 2013 and the only one in Europe, made the biking world buzz with excitement. Now, the FMB World Tour 2013 is ready to release its full event calendar. Packed with legendary Diamond and Gold events as well as new Silver and Bronze events – there is a lot to look forward too.

• Click here to download the official FMB World Tour 2013 event calendar.
• In 2013 there will be three Diamond events. One in Europe and two in North America
• Six Gold events are scheduled: four in Europe, two in North America
• Currently 31 events in 15 nations and application for Bronze events is still open
• Australia, New Zealand and Sweden make their debut on the FMB World Tour circuit on a Silver event level
• The overall prize money totalled from all events and the world tour, is over 400.000 USD
• All the action from major FMB World Tour events will be live on www.fmbworldtour.com and redbull.com/bike
• Next event: TEVA Slopestyle 2013, March 28th, Silver event, Queenstown NZL.

Six top event results count towards a rider’s position in the FMB World Tour overall ranking. With three Diamond and six Gold events, riders will have to battle hard to stay in the lead for the FMB World Tour 2013 champion title.

Expect to see the biggest names attending the first Diamond event of the season on June 27th – 30th 2013, as they compete for the first ever-gold medal at the X Games Munich Mountain Bike Slopestyle event, as well as major overall ranking points. Diamond events will then cross the pond on August 17th for Red Bull Joyride at Crankworx Whistler – the highlight event of the 10 day-long Crankworx Whistler festival in the Mecca of freeriding. The grand finale will once again be held at the ultimate big mountain competition – Red Bull Rampage in October. This is the first time Red Bull Rampage is held for a consecutive time on the FMB World Tour calendar.

Diamond events award riders with the largest amount of points, however, with six event results counting towards a riders overall ranking, Gold events will still feature most of the world’s best riders since athletes need the Gold level event points in order to be as far up FMB World Tour ranking as possible. The first Gold event will be FISE Slopestyle in Montpellier (FRA) on May 11th, with Red Bull Berg Line swiftly following a week later. Because the 52 weeks seeding list will decide the rider invitations for X Games Munich, Red Bull Berg Line will be the last chance for riders to make into the top 12 and get that precious ‘golden ticket’. Needless to say, 26TRIX will of course once again be held at Bikepark Leogang (AUT) before the final Euro Gold event at Crankworx Les 2 Alpes Slopestyle. On July 27th, Colorado Freeride Festival will be the first North American Gold event. Then, Darren Berrecloth will invite us to Mt. Washington, Vancouver Island for Bearclaw Invitational, the last Gold event of the season on August 24th.

In total, 10 Silver events in 8 different nations are scheduled for 2013, with debuts in Australia, New Zealand, Sweden and Spain. The next stop on the FMB World Tour calendar is the TEVA Slopestyle on March 28th – New Zealand’s debut event, where an impressive rider line up has already been confirmed.

Bronze events are still being reviewed since the application deadline is only 8 weeks prior to the event however, 12 Bronze events are already included in the calendar and we expect some more to join throughout the season. Bronze events are the foundation of the tour and the battleground for tomorrow’s stars as they win their first points and fight for the North American and European AM Championship title.

Thanks to our partner GoPro you can expect to see great POV and course previews, teasing major events before their LIVE stream on redbull.com/bike and fmbworldtour.com

"As many of you have heard the Claymore Challenge has been put on a hiatus for 2013, however we are already planning for 2014 to make it bigger and badder than ever. Highland will continue to be a major player in the FMB World Tour by hosting Spring Training in early June and we are in the process of working on some cool events with our resort partners. Stay tuned to HighlandMountain.com for updates and schedules!"

Why do people just respond to things with something completely random? What does the location of the Claymore challenge have to do with norbs being robbed????
  • 1 0
it is true that it isnt directly linked to the fmb world tour schedule, but it is important to say what the cycling community are thinking pretty much everytime they see the word rampage i think.

@robin281: I was making a joke about how Norbs got robbed is always on everything to do with Rampage and then some, and one guy talks about the Claymore challenge as a reply to "norbs got robbed," which has nothing to with Norbs got robbed but does have to do with the article.

disappointing to see Claymore won't be happening for 2013..

i guess they got bored, watching Semenuk winning the 2013 Claymore challenge again Wink na just kidding
  • 11 0
semenuk has the claymore course in his front yard to practice on...no wonder he wins every year

Didnt this happen last year? Claymore wasn't on the preliminary calendar and everybody was worried. It ended up happening anyways. It'll probably happen again, as the highland guys appear pretty committed to it, and it seems to get quite a bit of sponsorship money every year. But maybe this is just me being optimistic...

that does ring a bell, I think that did happen
  • 3 0
The Claymore is actually not coming back until 2014. It's mentioned on Highland's website. Not sure what the deal is.

 WHERES CHATEL MOUNTAIN STYLE??!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Frown
  • 12 0
Yeah that is odd... no chatel or claymore?
  • 1 1
I wouldn't worry about it, last year, chatel and claymore weren't on the calendar when it was immediately released, it'll probably be added later.
  • 4 0
 chatel will return in 2014
  • 9 0
 Where's Claymore?
  • 11 0
it left to look for waldo
  • 1 0
I frequent Highland often during riding season and it looked like they were concentrating a lot of effort on rebuilding NE style and improving other trails like Cats Paw. And Hellion was getting a little beat at the end of last year. I think they want to expand the mountain overall than expand on the Claymore challenge itself.

stocked to see rampage and x games in there but no chatel and no claymore is definately dissapointing
  • 4 0
stoked for silver style. should be fun.

Chatel has a break this year they are rethinking the contest, as it was such a bummer last year. wrong features, too big etc. and winds.
  • 1 0
is this true? are they taking an official break?
  • 3 0
i actually liked chatel mountain style how it was practised. i mean at least one more contest that is real freeride in the FMB tour. of course slopestyle and dirt are totally insane but kinda not freeride...and you cant do anything against strong winds, do you!? of course i am disappointed as well because i live 2.5h away ;-)
