by FMB World Tour
Only 10 weeks ago we watched the world’s best freeriders ride down some of the most hazardous terrain in the world at the FMB World Tour 2012 grand finale – the Red Bull Rampage. Now, after a short break the FMBA is ready to announce preliminary dates for the FMB World Tour 2013.

It is incredible how much progression the athletes and events make every year. After the FMB World Tour 2012 the big question is “what will we see next?” Well, in 2013 the FMB World Tour is branching out even further across the globe.

FMB World Tour 2013 will be making its stamp in Australia and New Zealand with the Silver events, X-up Freeride Festival and Teva Slopestyle Competition. In Europe, renowned for its uniqueness and spectacular atmosphere, the FMB World Tour welcomes another Silver event - the White Style competition held in Leogang, Austria. For the first time, Sweden will hold the Adrenaline City Cup in Gothenburg. Returning Silver events like the crowd magnet – Vienna Air King and the Swiss competition, Swatch Rocket Air Slopestyle will also once again be a part of the FMB World Tour 2013 calendar.

Moving up the event category ladder, the FMBA can now confirm six Gold events, four to be held in Europe and two to take place in North America. Starting in Europe, the Gold events begin in May with FISE in Montpellier and Red Bull Berg Line, held in Winterberg, Germany. In June the historic 26TRIX will once again be a part of the calendar. Rounding off the European tour in July is Crankworx Les 2 Alpes, which after its debut last year will stage another great Slopestyle event. The FMB World Tour 2013 will then cross the pond to North America for the Colorado Freeride Festival in Winterpark, CO. The Bearclaw Invitational will mark the final Gold event on August 25th.

In 2013 the Diamond events will stay in North America. It all begins at the Mecca of freeriding for Red Bull Joyride at Crankworx Whistler. For the first time ever in FMB World Tour history, the Red Bull Rampage will return for a consecutive year. This event normally takes place every other year but riders and spectators will return to the Utah desert as part of the FMB World Tour 2013.

The FMBA are still reviewing event applications so look out for further event news to be released early next year. For now, get stoked about what is certain to be another awesome FMB World Tour season, filled with suspense as the riders battle for the FMB World Tour 2013 title!

Traicrazy2772 um there doing to the redbull rampage for 2013 and 2014 then there moving the venue to a new location, and i heard a few rumours that there going to hold it in the gobi desert in 2015 or 1016 so we will seeSmile

Source? I would think having an event like Rampage in the Gobi desert would be a logistical nightmare with very little live spectators. I really hope it stays in Virgin, and they keep building the in the same area that is already sick.

I think that comes in under the Colorado Freeride Festival, I doubt they'd forget it.

Whoa. Is Chatel not happening? If it truly is left out of the schedule, then something needs to be done to help balance things out. Don't get me wrong, I love slopestyle contests, but it is the "Freeride" mountain bike world tour and it would be dissapointing if Rampage is the only event that forces riders off their ss and dirt jumpers. I hope to see people who are really well rounded riders(and can excel in every area of freeride) have a chance to show off their skills on every type of terrain. Oh, and FMB guys, if venues are difficult to come by, Mr. Atherton just finished his insane line and I'm sure the local bikepark wouldn't mind some major publicity

I've already posted below, Mountain style is on pause for 2013 according to their website. Crew promised they will return with redesigned event in 2014!

Amazing for these riders and the sport and crazy that the FMB has over double the rounds compared to the DH World Cup, i'm not saying for one minute they should have less at all, what i'm saying is UCI sort your sh*t out....

Kind regards

Stu

I might be going mentally insane but we are a newly appointed x-games sport, why are the organizers of FMB not placing the X-Games on this list as a diamond event? Maybe complete lack of control of the course design/judging, which somewhat makes sense. However, the last thing we want is our big guns like Brandon sitting out of the X-Games spotlight to focus on the larger FMB events...What is more important to riders, X-Games gold glam or an FMB title? Regardless of the X-Games hype the title seems to be a bigger deal to me, integrating the two somehow/someway would be a huge win for our sport...

anyone?

Brandon is not sitting out Xgames, with or without FMB. That being said, this is a PRELIM schedule, and Tarek is the guy ESPN is using for the event.
  • 2 0
Yes, also Manahttan, you have to remember who you're talking about when reffering to ESPN and XGames. This has been, is, and always will be a corporation fueled money maker, and i'm not sure you understand the process behind any contest becoming FMB sanctioned. Events must apply and pay to be a part of the Tour, and it's quite far fetched to assume Xgames has any interest in partnering with the FMB, especially since MTB it's in its first year as an event and there's no guarantee that it'll even get high ratings, because in the end that's all they care about.

The X-Games is sooo much bigger than the FMB I don't see why in the hell they would be connected at all. The X-Games is just a completely different thing altogether. Though I am curious how people will be chosen as eligible to compete.. Pretty excited to see how it works out.

No way Claymore can go from a gold event to not happening. Was there last year, f*cking crazy man. Front flips and back flips off drops, so sick. Cars lined the access road all the way to the main road out. Could hear the cheering on the mile walk in, like a college football game. Please oh please, don't cancel.

 Straya!

@ stik, was just speculating that most of the big guns won’t want to risk injury on the season for a non FMB event. Good to hear some facts from you that both are linked up and that nothing is finalized. Should be a season for the record books in the freeride world if everything pans out.

That said I really hope to see Claymore and Chatel on their…great events.

Rampage again? YEAH ! but, I hope that I'll see Red Bull District Ride in the following years too.
  • 3 1
wasn't there something about the fmb having a slope style event at x games ?
  • 1 0
Talked to Cam today and the word is Claymore is not happening. You have to be effing kidding me, the one year I really want to start competing...
  • 2 0
I remember sitting at the bar with the owner of Highland's wife and she said they were in jeopardy of losing Claymore! That will totally suck. I was there this year and got food poisoning from grilling in the dark Friday night and couldn't even drink a beer the next day without puking! One more year please!!!!
