July delivers our first round of finalists for the GoPro Line of the World Contest. New this year, you are the judge and will decide who will be this month's winners. The Pinkbike audience will vote on these 10 videos, and the edit with the most votes takes home the first prize of $1,200. Second place will receive $800, and third wins a sweet GoPro Hero4 Black Edition. At the end of the five months, all top three monthly edits will go into a bracket challenge and an overall winner will be selected.
Hmmmmm... funny I recognize that drop. I wonder who built that landing? My guess is it took roughly 2 1/2 days, using a pry bar and pick axe to break the rock. hahaha But actually
It seems like very few of these really involve quickly choosing a good (and exciting) line, which I thought was the goal of the contest. That being said, I think "Home Trail" does the best job of capturing the spirit of the contest.
Why are pro sponsored athletes allowed to be entered into this? I mean at least half these guys are professional riders that already get paid to make videos like that...Pilgrim, Vinny T, Deane, Smage Matthews....maybe more are, but those are the ones I know are already pros. Just seems a bit odd is all.
Looks like I'm not going to enter this year, at least as long as they expect us to compete against pros riding competition/pro built courses. They just need to change the rules or have 2 categories. Pro Category and Intermediate Category. Just think, if all the Fest Series Guys start posting their "lines" then everything but Rampage is going to lose. But it would be cool to have pros have their own and we can judge the best pro line ever.
I feel ya here but, the "pro" rider doesnt always have to win, right!!! As long as you have something coool fun, an good flow, theres always a chance that the people might choose us...none pro's..haha ! I want to enter too, but i need that thing called RAIN.
@Bdusty1: Come take the rain away from me. We have been building a line and it has been raining every weekend for almost the whole summer. Like too much rain where you cant pack the line cause you end up with dirt made high heels and leaving holes everywhere you step. Plus the mosquitos are nuts! I am rushing to finish the line so I can shoot, but the rain is keeping us from finishing and riding it.
@ehenrickson being not a pro, with no sponsors, and riding a pro line, built by one of the best pro riders @KCDeane (respect), he definitely has my vote. Wahoooo!!
I'm convinced that clip is only in the top 10 because of the corner cutting doggo, otherwise it's just a clip of a guy casing small jumps on a sketchy bmx track...
I couldn't help but cringe a bit on it. That's how your dog gets hit, and hurt. As much as a cool video of a tiny little yipper dog shredding, dogs should stay behind the bike. My dog loves to ride, but knows its place is in the back of the bike (except on climbs).
@jasbushey: my dog only needed to get buzzed once by the tire to learn her lesson - when she does cut corners she waits until I ride by, she also stays behind on the climbs but I'll admit when I take her out I do climb faster and descend much slower to better match her pace. That being said 'Erik Henrickson - Green River, Utah' got my vote
Like them all, but my top 3 are: Sam Pilgrim: very clean, smooth, technical run! Very talented! Steve Storey: For technical trail run, POV is very smooth, not jarring! Pleasant calm view for an action ride. Vincent Tupin: Wow! Winter wonderland! I've would of crashed multiple times!
Tomasz Profic - Kazoory 4X NEVER! Ur pushing this rat-to-be-a-dog, that is this kinda Yorkshire Terrier (It's not a dog IMO, but some kind of WTF Genre- related to fkin pidgeons at least) to rip a very nice trails of Kazoora. Please, sort Your mind out, it's not ok. Better let your... animal(?) stay at home and watch TV, Seriously. Hoped I'll enjoy some nice footage from my homie, sure not this time.
I have mixed feelings about this. He's a pro, so I don't really know if pros should enter. And then nine knights is awesome, but it's not that unique. I mean 10 or more other pros could submit clips from 9 knights too.
@Czauder1: ^yep exactly, POV from professional events/courses shouldn't be allowed. whats to stop every rider from the event posting a vid? kinda lame. but it is a sick line though.
ah, haha it was!!... well guess that kinda ruins it for me. still sick though, will have to cast my vote for someone else then.
guess from this batch then my new #1vote is for Steve Storey - Love Meat Ender, Whistler
