Highland wants to thank all our riders, campers, pros, coaches, sponsors and friends for another killer year! We couldn’t do this without you! Here is to 2014, see you in May!

On opening day, the pros came out to play. Aaron Chase and Mike Montgomery side by side on Hellion this past May.

Just a couple weeks after dialling in new tricks at Highland's FMB Spring Training, Brett Rheeder threw down a winning run for the ages at X-Games Munich MTB Slopestyle.

Highland's Camp programs continued to help many a rider big and small take it to the next level.

A major highlight of this season included the grand re-opening of NE Style. Jamie Goldman tables the big step down in the woods in this iconic shot from staff photographer Ryan Thibault.

Highland's much loved jump parks got re-energized with construction of the brand new Upper Sherwood zone.

A rider favourite when opened in 2012, Cat's Paw is now top-to-bottom with brand new upper and middle sections where any level of rider can dial the fun factor up to 11.

The 3rd Annual OverMountain Enduro Race saw over 200 racers take on Highland's challenging terrain including the brand new trail "Faux Pine" and its robust rock armouring.

Riders came from far and wide for the infamous Battle of Hellion 6X DH race, a staple of New England's fall racing season.

With one of the longest riding seasons in North America, riders even got treated to a bit of powder during the last couple days.

Goodbyes are tough, so in true Highland style we wrapped up closing weekend with a huge party at S'Ender Bash.

Gimmie 5 months... then HOLD MY BEER!

Me too. I clicked on this with excitement as I always do when I see Highland on the home page. Then once it loaded I didn't even watch it because I cant bring myself to accept that the season is over.

Altough there mountain is not as big as the BC giants, whistler, sunpeaks etc. They do have the most progression as far as jump trials go. A line is mostly table after table (not boring but would like more variety) I really like the big ladder drops and hips and jumps out of berms that are in this vid. I wish the whistler jump trials had more differnt jump features

You should ride pipe dream at silver star then. That trail is loaded with all of that. But with that being said you are correct, the jump trails at highland look amazing, especially with their slope course open to public. Don't get me wrong, I love the whistler park more than my own sister, but i would like to see some more variation in their flow trails, but the tech riding there is unbeatable (in my own opinion) Super stoked for the new coast gravity park as well, because that place is going to be unreal for flow trails.I can't complain with any of the riding in BC, but I would love to do a trip to highland.

MEOW! My friends and I looooove Cat's Paw... Perfect for an intermediate rider like me and gain confidence in my bike handling. A few runs on it and I feel like I can tackle the big drop on NE style... until i run up to it and chicken out. Maybe next year. Thanks to the awesome trail crew at Highland!

The big drop on NE Styles is butter. I hit it on my first ride back after 5 years off the bike on a rental tr250 from there. If you can ride all of the big lines on cats paw or even all the hits on hellion you got the big drop at the top of NE styles bud.

I just wish the highland mountain bike park was in the highlands!!

The hill opens May 1st. I'll pick you up at the Manchester, New Hampshire airport on my way up for the weekend.
  • 1 0
 100% agree
  • 1 0
Your hills are probably bigger - Highland is actually only about 600 feet.

We've have some great trails here, upon the hills and mountains but' highland' and other north American bike parks seem to make a better job than the ones in scotland.you have more and bigger 'fun' features built into the trails.as for dirt jumps and pump tracks our bike parks dont seem to know they exist.dont get me wrong I enjoy a day out on some of our trail centres, I just feel they can be better and brought up a level.thats my rant over im away to build some secret fun trails.!!!

The east coast bike parks do a good job of making what we have awesome by putting in what you call 'fun' features.

 Best bike park ever!

Looks more enjoyable than Whistler imo. Less crowded, friendly faces. It comes of to me like a local family owned and operated trail network!
  • 1 0
Wonder what the ratio of Australians to everyone is at Highland with Whistler being about 10 Aussies to 4 New Zealanders to maybe 1? of everyone else.
  • 1 0
Wait till ya stand in the lift line...then tell me it isn't crowded
  • 1 0
Very few Australians and New Zealanders seem to make the trip to Highland. I've ridden the lift with people from Europe and the UK, but no Australians or Kiwis. Highland does have a great atmosphere, fun and friendly. The lift is old and slow, but it does help spread people out on the trails and there's plenty to venture off and check out. If you hit it on a summer doldrums week day you can pretty much ride your bike back onto the lift after every run.

What a great year everyone. You just cant beat that 60-man train down Cat's Paws for the last run of the season. What a incredible day. Thanks to everyone who can make this happen. Cant wait for next year!

 f*ck....IS IT MAY YET?!?!?!

It's really unbelievable what they've done to that tiny mountain. I absolutely love this place. I'm so happy I've gotten about 12 days of ridding at Highland this year, it's so worth the 3.5 hour drive from Canada!! Trails for every level, everything is well maintained and well done. Anyone that passes by Highland should definitely check it out!

I love Highland so much. I'm so happy to call it home. The people there are great, everyone is friendly, and you will always be able to find somebody to ride with. I can't wait until next year, Keep it up guys!

This made me miss it even more

wish I had this place when I was a kid... but so glad I live 40 minutes down the road.. my riding has seen such awesome progression this year, and a lot of that is due to riding with old, and new friends at highland! When you work with one of the trail crew on some xc stuff one day building new trail, an then watch him absolutely kill it and beat out all the pros in the enduro race another day.. you know this place is the real deal. Till next season!

I've never been in a place with weather cold enough to keep me from riding.. But being in the military away from all my friends who I used to ride with back in Georgia really sucks. This video perfectly portrays the way I feel when I come back home and get to ride with them.

Thank you Highlands, Mark and an amazing trail crew! I didn't make opening day but I certainly got many days and ended up on last day and stayed until we had to go home. I've have had many conversations with my buddies about how impossible it is to communicate to our spouses and non-riding people how awesome it is up there and how much fun we have, riding a Saturday, camping out, getting silly, and riding Sunday till the last chair like it is the last run we will ever have. Next year I will be 56 and I am still learning new stuff and having a blast. I'm also looking forward to what the trail crews are up to but my hope is a little love on Hellion!! Ok where are my skis... Flyerhead5

I have highland to thank for giving my drive back for riding. When I first came out in July after a 5 year hiatus off the bike I rented a a bike from you guys and didnt think I'd be hitting much. After three trips I'm feeling just as confident as ever on the bike and thank you guys so much for having such a great park and such a great atmosphere for progression and improving your skills on the bike. I hope that I'm able to come back out next season for a while and ride more at your park. As of yet I've only visited highland and mammoth bike parks and highland take the cake as far as people you run into and such a great staff of riders and people that know the mountain like the back of their hands. Loved your airbags for attempting to get inverted and thank you guys for the wonderful season of riding!

So cool to see how Highland has progressed. The early days were a bit rough with some real sketchy trails. Every year the place has made huge leaps in progression. So siked to see what they come up with next year.

Why cant the uk have a propper bike park like this, or the other northamerican bikd parks.
  • 2 0
My honest answer would start a massive flame war. So instead I will just tell you that youre welcome to come visit NH. We would love to have you.
  • 1 0
Probs because we only have a few mountains of any note and the ramblers and tree hugging brigade would be up in arms if someone tried to do something similar. I think skidaw would make a great venue to turn over to mountain bikeing.

Bike park Wales is a great start and can only get better. Plus inners is still fighting for a lift and once that eventually sorted will be awesome. We got to start somewhere.
  • 1 0
Highland is a bike park only...no lifts spinning in the winter. Although it used to be a ski mtn, so I'm sure buying the lift etc. was cheaper than bringing in a new one.
