It's called AT's Showdown because Andrew Taylor organizes it. And rides in it as well...
Linus Sjoholm ended up in 6th spot today.
Greg Watts threw down some solid tricks like this flip barspin but couldn't make it past Anton Thelander and ended up in 5th place.
Reece Wallace really stepped it up today and impressed pretty much everyone. Fourth place overall...
Martin Soderstrom, third place today.
Cam McCaul whipping on and threeing off...
Jake Kinney tailwhipping up the step up
A few riders tried to front flip the step up, Anthony probably came the closest...
Whip off, Martin Soderstrom and Ryan Howard.
Soderstrom and R-dog again...
Casey Groves was killing it with huge flat three's and these stretched out super seat indians...
Casey Groves put down the biggest 360's of the entire weekend.
T-mac flips up while Brett Rheeder watches on..
Guess who?
This guy had one of the best scraper bikes I saw at the show, all ready for halloween. Check out the vice grips on the seat post in case of a mechanical...
Thumbs up on the free lunch via Jake Kinney
Carson Storch and Linus Sjholm battle down to the finish.
Reece taking out R dog early on in finals.
Vansteenbergen with a solid front flip tuck no hander over the big one...
Linus took out Paul Genovese to move into 6th spot
Brett Rheeder taking out Martin Soderstrom to move into the final.
Reece barspinning up the step up and into 4th place.
Anton Thelander goes up against Brett Rheeder in the final.
With tricks like 3 whips and trucks Brayden Barrett-Hay won the best style award
I don't like that Trek won, the company is getting too big of a presence on the dirt and it's not a legit mtb company. They supported Lance through all the doping and they are based out of Wisconsin....not cool.
Where on Earth do they find 7 G$ dollars to give!? I mean its so awesome but.....if a contest like this one would ever happen in Greece the tax would be 70% for "sudden incoming profits"
Her guys, lets keep the politics off pinkbike, and no talking bad about other countries.
All I'm say'in is that whenever I see aTrek road bike I think of Lance and the 7 tour wins and all the doping...and Bruyneel...and then I see Trek bikes ridden by a bunch of pros in the dirt jump contests it just seems out of place to me. They will always be a roadie company to me. It's like all of a sudden Trek is putting all their eggs in a different basket (dh freeride) cause the first basket they made millions from (roadies, Lance) turned out to be a soiled product with a tainted image.
Protour you are the one who brought politics here, nobody else. Besides, what the actual f*ck are you talking about? How does one rider's actions make an entire division of a multimillion dollar company a "soiled project"? Also, trek built its first mountain bike in 1983 which doesn't exactly mean they are doing anything "all of a sudden." Did Gwin not take the world title in downhill on a trek in both 2011 and 2012? You REALLY think its not a legit mountain bike company?? And what is the problem with expanding and trying to dominate every single genre of cycling? If you're so down with road bikes, you should find a site where people will agree with whatever misinformed opinions you have there
semenuk, gwin, mccaul ... ect. ... will kick yer ass! woo!! stoked!
look more into mt. biking ... cause one o 'dem O.Gs's (... something something sh..an......dro? and then some....) will punk you once the new schoolers are done!
woo, stoked!
sorry man , couldn't resist! haha... cause every egg from every basket (that clearly trek (ET AL. .... ET AL.) have filled) ... are gonna crash on yo' head..., foo'! plus who knows, maybe their real name in the mt bike industry side-o-thangs is like some neosporine up on the wounds of trek via the lance issue ... they are integrated with some real time, good cats (yep. real time, good alley-cats .. yo') ... who keep at least the mt. bike side of cycling appropriate, fun, and spread full'o'love. lance may have pooched this one, but that shouldnt reflect wholly upon an innanimate object ... r ... they are corporations, sure, real people too, but, we all make mistakes!! haha ... and ... they have some f*ck-off nice bikes as byproduct of their years with lance ... maybe we all need a lil' dopin' and what not to truly progress the sport (tech + design!)! haha ... "we like to have fun here"(south park).
Protour, you have the worst opinions on PB, please refrain from sharing them in the future. btw, Trek is not "all of a sudden" in the MTB world, they have been around since the start, and they are the biggest retailer of specialty bikes in America. Also that's not fair, would you respect Trek if they were based out of California? If I were to judge you by where you are from I would think you would be cool because you are Canadian. Obviously you're not, but I dont judge all Canadians on your actions, because that would be unfair and you guys arent all arrogant troll tools. Just Protour is, as far as I know.
I am stoked to see Trek doing so well in the mountain bike world! They make quality products and obviously have a strong support program for their factory riders. Pigeonholing a versatile company like Trek as a "road bike" company is silly, if anything their mountain bikes out-perform their road bikes (at least at the high end). I don't know why you'd bash ANY company for furthering our sport and supporting what we love. Lance and his career have absolutely nothing to do with this article or Trek's MTB riders. Thank you Trek, and your awesome freeride team, for getting so much of the community stoked!
I got one reason to hate on Trek: they won't put that damn slope bike on the market!!! I've drooled over that bike for years now, it looks so dope. Trek, please sell me a Remedy SS, please...
Maybe if you were to see the little Canadian flag next to my name and clue in that the pro Andrew Taylor is from the USA then you guys wouldn't have been so confused... Sorry if I offended anyone? But I'm not the Andrew Taylor who held this contest and so don't get the wrong idea about him please. I said it, not him. If you have a problem with what I said, message me.
Rheeder earned every dollar of that check. Every rider at the contest killed it. Paul Genovese had the sickest bike, Cody and James had the sickest pants (you think Cody's chick knows he stole her pants?) It was an awesome weekend please don't ruin it with stupid nonsense comments. To win you have to show up and if they didn't show up to bad for them. That was Rheeder's first contest win and he earned it Andrew. It was also nice to see some of our local guys like J.R. Alvernaz, Shelby Paget and little Nico Kilik get out and kill it on the big course (props to those guys and their balls of steel).

if I had the $$ I'd buy a Trek because of that, and they are well made, with a lifetime guarantee.
