Sequence Saturday 39

Nov 16, 2012 at 12:23
by Ian Hylands

bigquotesI watched Tom van Steenbergen pull this fronty tuck a few times over the weekend, and I pretty much knew he was going to do it in best trick. I shot a couple of good singles of him all stretched out, but to me they didn't really show how big this jump was, so I shot a full sequence. Here it is, check out how long he holds it for... - Ian Hylands

bigquotesI learned how to front flip a year ago, I've gotten better and better at them and they just feel natural now. Front flip variations on big jumps are just so much fun and they get scored pretty good as well. The bigger the jump is the more fun it is to front flip and it makes it easier too! This was my first year at AT's showdown and it was awesome... everything about it is good; sun, no pressure, lots of practice, lots of bro's, it's just a good time. . - Tom van Steenbergen

The Pinkbike user with the best comment about this trick wins an EVOC Protector Vest Air+.

Please keep in mind that we choose the winner based on the best comment, it does not and never has had anything to do with the number of props. Also keep in mind that anyone found to be giving out negative props to a number of users without explanation or reason given will be banned for prop spamming.

Wow. This board is staggering. I've always kind of taken the point of view that if you have to explain your joke, you're probably better off putting your efforts someplace else.

And then, dude who calls himself blkmrkt22 sends me a message calling me a f*ggot? Man. This place is unbelievable. I mean...are there really 21 other blkmrkt's out there?

i remember how not so long ago before mountain biking had really taken off like it has today how the very best pros would land a jump like that without any tricks. just strait up. and they were heroes for it. but now everything gets tricked except for the massive hucks. its amazing to see this kind of progression in a relatively short period of time. makes you wonder whats to come. i cant wait to see how big we can take this stuff in the next few years. its the brave riders like Tom van Steenbergen who are going to push the sport further and further, and im super stoked for it!
