Cédric Gracia's Santa Cruz Hightower Bike Setup - Video
"I like to tuck my ears in my hat to be like all the other douches who do this. And I stick a pipecleaner in my posterior. Because I like the sensation." Ride what you like. Not what you see.

Testing With Team Specialized Gravity
Thanks! This was an epic article. But, like was said, data is just data unless someone can extract what it really means in elapsed time. Don't think that Specialized was, or is, the only manufacturer to do this level of data acquisition. Although as in any form of racing, it all comes down to what the rider feels comfortable and can ride fast. As in motorsports, the fastest setup is only fast if it can be driven/ridden. Sometimes, the key to speed and winning is something that can't be quantified.

Ask Pinkbike: Hybrid Drivetrains, Wheel Weight Limits and Custom Jerseys
Ok. On the custom jerseys. I'm from old school and used to race desert off road. The guys that got the most crap, were the ones who had the latest matching driver suits and shoes, and still walked out of the desert after breaking. I did a SoMo shuttle and out pedaled a group of jersy'ed younger punks uphill, and felt great about that. The point is that if you "look" really fast and have the latest custom kit, your riding better be up to the level of your swanky threads. It would be hilarious if you were out ridden by an old guy wearing Keds, cargo shorts and a "My Little Pony" sweatshirt. Worry about your safety gear and machinery more, and dismiss the desire to be "cool." Too much of this MTB genre is worried about "looking right." Just my .02.

French Suspense - Samoëns EWS Day One
These riders are busting ass on what used to be AM bikes. My hats off to them. Closer to DH than XC. On single crown stuff. The line between DH and Enduro is finer now. Awesome coverage. Thanks

Tech from the Pits - World Cup DH, Lenzerheide
Maybe he picks a better line? J/K... They ARE tubeless right? Man! 38 psi puts a lot of stress on the carcass and rim when it's NOT moving. Hitting a rock would decrease the volume temporarily and increase the stress/pressure at the point of impact. Have you tried much lower pressures?

Not buying that. Each brand has an "exclusivity" clause in their contract with a company like CST. Otherwise, each brand would use duplicate treads, and that would be like trademark infringement. At least if I had a deal like that, I would not like other tire brands using my tread patterns. And they probably have exclusive rubber compounds too.
