I thought he was coming up for directions and then he waved his gun. Maybe to warn him of a snake on the trail. I saw a snake on the trail the other day.I was riding this small little single track trail. sort of a beginners trail as I had gotten into the good shit a little before i went for a ride. maybe i went for a ride because i was a little out of it. im not sure. it was f*cking enduro so anything is possible. So Im looking down at the bike wondering who's it was when I hear this sound that sounds like I got something in the spokes. SNAKE!!!... right in the middle of the trail. Just a little plop of nope sitting there daring me to go forward. Well there is no f*cking way I am going to turn around as that is uphill; uphill is for suckers. I look at this thing and he looks at me and I can tell we are both weighing our options. f*cking grasslands.. not a stick in sight... I hear someone coming down behind me and grinds to a stop. Dude wtf. your stopped right on the shoot. Some punk 14 year old kid. I point at the snake and i am not positive but i think he may of wet himself. So thie snake is sitting on the trail with to people staring him down and he is not moving. He has decided that this spot belongs to him I start talking to the kid. do you work? no... are you on the honor roll? no.... do you facebook? yes... do you have a snapchat account? yes... I am starting to piece together that this guy gives absolutely nothing back to society and I start to formulate a plan.. .So since there is no way i am going back up I give the kid a little push. since he is on a 29er the wheel weight takes over and before he can get stopped he is right on the snake. he screams.. "dude im only 14 why would you do that?" i throw the bike into a manual and launch myself off the back of his knees clearing the snake (which may of been attached to his arm anyways..). So all in all it was a pretty good ride....

I'm not addressing all Mexicans as beaners, only the ones who decide to live a low pathetic life, and take what isn't theirs... There are those same type of people in every race, as a white person I could understand if someone called me white trash for stealing and taking what's not mine. I personally don't have a problem with any race in particular, just the low life scum that is associated with each... To each of you Liberals that I offended I hope you all know that I am not a racist. Just a guy who hates any kind of lowlife fucker that steal bikes...

Then don't hate on Latinos, and hate on bike thief's instead. And by the way, most people who say racist things, but then try to assure you that they are "most definitely not a racist", are probably racist. And it just shows even more how dumb you are that you automatically assumed that the robber was a Latino, because he wasn't, he was South African.

I guess you can't seem to comprehend irony or sarcasm, i.e. making a racist remark while speaking of racism....

Transcript from the interview:
WALLACE: Black History Month, you find ...

FREEMAN: Ridiculous.

WALLACE: Why?

FREEMAN: You're going to relegate my history to a month?

WALLACE: Come on.

FREEMAN: What do you do with yours? Which month is White History Month? Come on, tell me.

WALLACE: I'm Jewish.

FREEMAN: OK. Which month is Jewish History Month?

WALLACE: There isn't one.

FREEMAN: Why not? Do you want one?

WALLACE: No, no.

FREEMAN: I don't either. I don't want a Black History Month. Black history is American history.

WALLACE: How are we going to get rid of racism until ...?

FREEMAN: Stop talking about it. I'm going to stop calling you a white man. And I'm going to ask you to stop calling me a black man. I know you as Mike Wallace. You know me as Morgan Freeman. You're not going to say, "I know this white guy named Mike Wallace." Hear what I'm saying?

The more people really give a shit about racist remarks, the more attention it gets, the more it will continue being an issue. If people get a reaction out of WORDS, the actions that follow will continue to exist.

@rupintart - If we could end racism by not talking about racism, then why are you on a bike website talking about racism? And why on earth would you drop an nbomb? That is not ironic or funny, its in very poor taste BRO. So you watched an interview once with Morgan Freeman and now you're all preachy? I'd love it if we could live in a world where race was no issue, but clearly it still is(www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqdCWpUmP-Y), and ignoring racism or giving "less f*cks" will not make racism or racist people disappear. You are really f*cking dumb.

Equal treatment... There are two dogs living in your neighbourhood. One is a labrador and one is a pitbull. Both are dogs, both can bite you, neither of them has ever done anything wrong to you, but are you going to treat them equally or are you going to be more careful when the pitbull is around? That's what racism is about.
  • 2 1
 @Extremmist: empathy. look it up.

But the pit bull has accounted to 62% of the fatalities in the last 9 years in the US, the lab has accounted for less than 1%. Just as black males have a 6 time higher incarceration rate per capita. Isn't it worth it to maintain some level of skepticism.

a particularly important facet of intelligence is the ability to take precautionary measures in the face of a statistical or perceived threat, all the while having the capacity to delve beyond surface analysis to the causative. Anything less will either leave you unprepared to deal with the immediate situation, or with a thoroughly incomplete understanding of a situation, which leaves you unprepared to tackle the initial cause of the situation. A person who thinks that everything will be peachy upon walking into a neighborhood with high crime rates will get their shit jacked. A society that understands crime statistics, but believes them to be a simple function of race will never be able to reduce said crime rate, as it will be insistent on short-term superficial measures to "combat" the issue rather than "resolve" it. As for my mention of empathy earlier, a thorough understanding of any issue pertaining to humans in any way requires an objective statistical analysis and an empathetic analysis. It is an all too common mistake on the part of liberals to leave out the former, and an all too common mistake on the part of conservatives to leave out the latter. In closing: don't be an a*shole, just use your brain.

I'll give you an example of what's wrong with the US, this hill billies like billiihiillii whatever, think all people of hispanic origin are "Mexican", and he calls them Mexicans, like Mexican was a race by itself. Actually, Mexican is a person who's origins are in the country of Mexico, Mexico is a country populated by diverse races, like, white, native, not that many blacks, because obviously, the Spaniards didn't need any slaves, since they slaved the native population. For this Mr hillbilli, the person in the video is by no means Mexican, or resembles a Mexican. I think after so many years contributing to The US, we should deserve more respect, but there is no such a thing when you put ignorance in the Mix, a very high percentage of Mexican Americans contribute to the arm forces of the US, and most illegal aliens come through Mexico because, guess what???, it is the country south of the United States!, where Asians, central Americans, South Americans and Europeans, yes Europeans, and of course Mexicans, cross the border illegaly into the US... Why not through Canada? its to far away to travel to Canada and then cross into the US.

So by this, I just wanted to bring a little light into the brains of some dark idiots out there that can't pinpoint in a map where they live and are as ignorant as they come. For most, I love every race, and have great white, black, yellow biking friends that I just love....
  • 4 4
dmarquez- I agree with almost all of your post. Where you stray from reality is the assumptions that all negative comments about a nationality or race are in fact racist based. That is where the liberal media and liberal politicians have successfully convinced many in order to further divide the country into convenient voting blocks for their own benefit.
Fact is this isn't going to get better until the wide open toilet which is now the US southern border is closed off, illegal immigrants of all nationalities and races deported and a reasonable adjustment period occurs, with verification we have controlled immigration is restablished. Stereotypes and the decisions people make on a daily basis are for the most part rooted in real and valid survival instincts. If you deny this you are foolish and putting yourself at great risk.
I happen to love Hispanics as a people. They for the most part have a solid work ethic, family oriented and faith based , love them. I hate the fact that Mexicans and others south of the border are taking advantage of the citizens of the US. This is being allowed to occur by disgusting politicians in order to water down the resistance they get at the voting booths since these immigrants will almost always vote for free stuff which liberals will gladly grant them since it fits into their larger government/Marxist agenda.
So open your eyes Mr. Marquez and live in Realville, pay the obscene taxes. You will see my POV. Secure Border, Common Language, Stable Culture. If you don't have these 3 things you really don't have a country. Ours is slipping away. You can either be the solution or the problem. Your choice.
  • 1 2
chasejj - thank you for your post, you're also doing a fine job of reinforcing other stereotypes. are you part of the solution? the irony is palpable lol

Cuban-b-Could care less about reinforcing stereotypes or not. For example, given the state of law enforcement and crime in cities today. I do not willingly take my family into any cities for any reason unless it is unavoidable. Too dangerous for my family to bother with, we can do other things. Not racist , just a strong sense of where the risk is and whether it is worth waiving basic instincts.

  • 4 2
@chasejj. "Secure Border, Common Language, Stable Culture. If you don't have these 3 things you really don't have a country. Ours is slipping away. You can either be the solution or the problem.". short sighted, simple and static. The modern nation, as identified through modern political nationalism has only existed for a few very short centuries. As with all paradigms, this one is no less subject to shift. moving on, secure borders are one thing, but to expect stability in terms of language, and especially in terms of culture is asinine, as both phenomena are highly dynamic. I will amend your statement to suit a more logical worldview:
1. Secure borders from military threats, however, given the migratory and economic trends of globalization and a historical analysis of Latin American-US relations (encompassing economic, racial, political and military interaction) conclude that isolationism and border insulation are somewhere between illogical and immoral.
2. Establish common language, all the while understanding that individual languages are in a constant state of change, and that adequate linguistic education can only mean good things for international trade, research collaboration and policy.
3. Stable culture: attempt to establish none, and by doing so avoid relative cultural stagnation.

Conclude: the nation as we understand it is simply a single evolutionary phase, not an absolute. "I am a human being" means exponentially more than "I am an American".

f*ck thinking before you speak. thinking before you think is even more crucial.
  • 2 1
 gclarida: ouch.....
  • 1 0
@wisconsin-freerider: That's what I wanted to say. Not sure about numbers in South Africa (all I know is that since the end of apartheid in 1994 the crime rate went up and life expectancy wend down from 61 years in 1993 to 51 years in 2006 (now it's back to 61, which means it's the same as 20 years ago)). But in northern Europe non-European foreigners are overrepresented in crime statistics - in some types of crimes so significantly, that the ratio of non-European immigrants to white Norwegians is comparable to aggressive pitbulls and aggressive labradors.
  • 3 0
rupintart nailed it up in here. Keep taking offense to racial/cultural comments. Keep discriminating about who can't say something & who can & you'll keep being totally f*cking butt hurt over it. Don't make it a big deal & it won't be a big deal. Take jokes as jokes & get the f*ck over it, bitches.

If you call a honky a beaner to insult him or vice versa then offense makes sense. You call a beaner a "beaner" & it's like callin' a honky a "honky". No big deal.
  • 2 1
Actually, the "offensive-comment" makes no sense regardless of the race. If somebody was completely serious and called me a "punk bitch spic-jew-n*gger" on the street, I could give two f*cks. I would laugh and keep walking. They could get in my face and I'd give two shits all the same.

It's just words...it's up to the person to react to it. If you react to a "punk bitch n*gger" comment well, I guess the shoe fit then didn't it and the person calling it was right weren't they?

People call names because it gets a reaction out of the person they're calling it to; and in result it ended up making the person getting name called do exactly what the name-caller wanted. Now who's the dumb one?
  • 1 0
Agreed. Offensive comments say more about the person making the comment rather than their intended target. It's said with the intention of pissing someone off/getting under someone's skin and that's it.

I think people are just reacting to your choice of, uh, colorful examples of these comments lol .
  • 2 1
Chase jj, you have a point in what you say, some of it makes sense. But, may I remind you that illegal immigrants can't vote, since there is no possible way to obtain a voting ID. If you see a liberal handing out fake voting Id's to illegal immigrants please call 911 and report him to the authorities. That assumption is a widespread lie created by extreme conservatives with an agenda. AS far as I am concerned, both parties have become way to radical, and maybe a third party in the middle would not be such a bad idea.

Please next time you see recruiters in "questionable" neighborhoods, call your local congress man and file a complaint, let's work the "idea" out in all fronts, otherwise it would be hypocrisy. The army offers citizenship to illegals.
  • 1 1
Any sane country would require a simple photo ID to prove identity prior to voting. Nothing radical or extreme about that, if you have a functional brain.
So you have to ask yourself a question. Why would the Libs be so against this concept?
Pretty simple logic to get to the truth.

I had every shred of evidence showing that it was my bike, even had the address the cops could go to fetch it... but alas, in South Africa the cops are useless and did nothing... After all it was "just a bicycle" , even though my bike was worth more than the car that the investigating officer was driving... As joe-falconi said, these guys probably will spend a night in jail and because the cops will conveniently lose the case docket the next day, too much effort ya'know...  - That's my bike blood!

I had a bike stolen at Gunpoint about 20 years ago. Was at the Dirt Jumps and dude pops out and says, "That's my bike bloood." After I ignored him and he said it again I turned to pop him and he pulled out the 9mm and said, "I don't think you understand bloood!"

It was very hard to watch him walk away with it and not jump him. As he rode down the street I went and jumped in my Toyota, floored it with the plan of jumping up on the sidewalk and running the f*cker over! At that moment the lights came on and I realized Jail time for murder wasn't worth a $1,000 BMX bike. Home Owners Insurance paid me more than I paid for the bike anyways...

Was never scared, I was just Pissed!!!! I mean, that "was" MY Bike "Blood"

Bloke did everything right in this situation. Fair play for his calmness under pressure.

Riding away from School in Liverpool in 1995 I saw two older fellas, late 20's who were leaning against the railings. As I passed one of them punched me in the head so hard he knocked me into the road just missing passing cars. In a crazy turn of events I had fallen inside the frame and they couldn't get it away from me, every time they pulled I came with the bike. This resulted in them beating me senseless to try and get me and the bike untangled. What pushes two older guys to do that to a 12 year old kid? Must have been as it was a Raleigh Activator II Wink
My Mum had also saved up by putting £20 a week into a bike shop Christmas Club for the whole year before to get me that bike so if it had of gone I would have been devastated as I was acutely aware of how much effort went in to getting it.
The other shocking thing and you may find this hard to believe is that cars put their indicators on and drove around me as they punched and kicked me in the head. Finally, a lady stopped and tried to drag them off me which was the point they ran off. She then drove behind me with her hazards lights on while I walked the bike home and helped explain things to my mother. I'll never forgot that.

Sorry for rambling, but this story brought something up which I have locked away in the memory bank for nearly 20 yrs.

Those robbers may have looked like idiots but they would not have hesitated to shoot him if he resisted in any way. Many thousands of people are murdered for far less than a cheap bike there every year.

The comments about it being a cheap, worthless bike show how ignorant most people are of the context of that robbery. 25% unemployment and a very large portion of the population living in abject poverty with no prospect of meaningful healthcare or education. The rider was probably riding a cheap, beater bike on purpose given the high risk of hijackings in South Africa.

And some folk on PB say he should have punched them or even taken a bullet if it was an SWorks. Wow, really?

Its a very sad situation.

damn .. that sucks. i would have crapped my pants
  • 11 0
Fu*k my empathy: I was nearly crapping my pants just by watching this video.. man, a f*cked up guy pointing a gun at you in South Africa! Those guys are so desperate that they don't understand the importance of life: how many times I've seen/heard of people killing other people for a bunch of money, for a cellphone, for something with 0 value compared to life.
And thank god he didn't notice the GoPro: I don't wanna know what he would have done if he discovered that he was being recorded.
  • 11 0
He looked right at it. Didn't know what it was.........he will when they catch him and he watches the footage and his lawyer whipsers- oh and your a viral youtube asshole now too.

Now that f*cking sucks, but let me just say that if I ever see another PB article entitled "Shocking!" or anything similar like this is some stupid viral news site fishing for Facebook shares I'll probably lose my shit.

Who here thinks we should get PinkBike to start a donation page to help get that Rider a new bike? Cuz that just sucks right there!
  • 6 1
Don't let me stop you but it sounds like they caught the guys and the video will be used as evidence in the "procecution". I hope Those dudes feel the full weight of the law. Is that how you spell prosecution in South Africa? (see youtube video description)
  • 8 2
Well those thives aren't smart, guy has gopro on a helmet and they stole 100$ worth bike Big Grin instead od 200$ used Gopro Smile Smile Smile
Gopro is more handy for a thief but perhaps they heve no electricity to charge GoPro
  • 1 0
bmar - the guy is probably afrikaans speaking so english is likely his second language...and no...that's not how we spell prosecution lol

Pikls94 i know what you mean - i can barely understand bryceland. But still, the English speak the best english. Its all about the slang. And you scots and irish and aussies arent half bad either. The only thing we add from this side of the water is maybe hip hop.

Experthucker true story, i was in inverness a couple years back, went to a cafe and actually had to tell the nice lady behind the counter i was having severe issues with her accent. Same thing happened in glasgow, i find the glaswegian accent nearly impossible to decipher hahaha

Every recession that happens things go a little bit right wing for a few years, wont be long before all the racists stop voting again and we can get on with rational debate again. The video was in SA as well, a few minutes thought could remedy some of the comments on there!

f*ck me, when we were in afghan, they all had their own bikes. these bell ends need to start selling some corn or heroin and buy their own bike. bastards will be gutted when they realize they left a £300 odd GoPro helmet cam behind. and it has the evidence!
  • 5 0
Watching the video and my first reaction was 'ride faster, past the dude running at you!' - not knowing he had a gun. Now if that was me I may have been shot in the back. The guy here handled it well.

Lesson learned: Assume all shady looking characters running at you have a gun, and you're going to outrun a bullet.
  • 5 0
I caught two men trying to take my old marin mount vision. Being an ex british paratrooper, and battalion boxing champ, i knocked the pair of twats out. then laughed my tits off then carried on with my ride. Never heard of them stealing again.
  • 5 0
Gimme the bike, and your money, hey, what's that on your helmet - it almost looks like a mini camera... nah! Hope they catch this guy - but if it happened in North Van, I still wouldn't hold your breath - where we've heard how hard it is to convict a bike thief due to the hurdle of proving the case beyond a reasonable doubt - as mentioned in the earlier article - Wolf Amongst the Sheep.
  • 6 1
Its definatly not worth getting shot over trying to fight to get your bike back, but it would hard not too..... Time for a CCW. Where was this at?
  • 4 0
I think this is easy to say behind a computer screen: I guess that if you see a poor, desperate guy pointing a gun at you it wouldn't be hard at all not to fight back.

OH BTW THE SECOND WAS IN FRONT OF MY WORK SO WHEN I KNOCKED HIM OUT I DRAGGED HIM INTO THE FACULTY(TAXI/DRIVER SERVICE), FOUR OF FIVE COLLEGES TOOK TURNS KICKING HIM TO THE HEAD AND RIBS BECAUSE THEY WERE ROBBED AS WELL!!!!.  Is it just me, or does the guy with the gun put his trigger hand on the filmer's hand? He was obviously a larger man and could have easily taken the gun right there and killed all 3 of them.
  • 3 1
Mtb legend=>Say "I can do the superhero and kill bad people because i'm stronger!" behind your screen is most easy than when you are in front of a gun!Wink
  • 3 1
Yeah sure, that is totally reasonable. Most probably gets all of them killed or severly injured in the process, including himself...
  • 2 0
And kill 3 guys who probably don't know where they will sleep or eat tonight just for a bike is a little bit too much i think!
  • 2 1
You aren't understanding what I said. Theblackrider, the robber wasn't pointing the gun at him, he practically put the gun in the guy's hand, and I didn't say anything about being a superhero. If you want to be concerned about where a guy aggressively threatening your life is going to eat and sleep tonight, good for you. But he has decided my life is worth a $100 bike, so I have no reason to value his life either.

I don't think I would have stopped though in the first place without the guy physically running into the bike. I don't usually pay attention to people on the side of the trail and definitely not slowing down for train tracks, that's air time!

Had a similar thing happen on my bike... thug walked up and said "Nice bike... I think I'll take it now". He grabbed the bars and yanked it his way. I didn't move. Dude walked around me... full circle, then punched me in the side of my head. I still didn't move. He yanked the bike again, then said F*** YOU and walked away. I rode home, head pounding, but didn't lose my bike.

hey I was 16 and out numbered... but still got home with my bike. F*** these thieves...
  • 4 0
haha very funny stories here on pb. Yours is probably one of the funniest. The way you didn't move, got punched in the head, still didn't move and the guy left... !!
How can you talk such sh*t ?!
  • 12 5
I got shot 4 times in the head and 3 times in the chest when I wouldn't give up my bike. I almost fell to the ground but just like when I'm riding my bike kept me up. When these guys took off I rode after them and then bunnyhopped a fence and landed right on them. They both died from head injuries because I had my suspension locked out. Then I rode home and pulled out the bullets which I drilled holes through and put on my spokes for noisemakers. Oh man, did that ever hurt pulling them out with my pliers, I should have used needlenose.

7-8yrs ago I was on the Stampede /Victoria Park C-train station in Calgary at 7pm after work as I wasn't feeling the 30km commute home in the rain. Was sitting on my bike waiting for the train and the spidey sense started going crazy. I look over my shoulder and see two "first nations" teenagers coming down the escalator. My instincts told me to move but there was 20-30 people standing there with me so I shrugged it off. Well then I get a tap on the shoulder and one of them stands in front of me and the other directly behind me. The guy behind me grabs my pack and tries to pull me off my bike while the guy in front tries to grab the bike. With one hand holding my bike I started swinging at the guy in front of me while getting punched in the back of the head from the guy behind me. Then the train pulls up and 2 transit cops get off and the two kids bolt. What pissed me off the most was that everyone on the platform turned around and watched, completely unwilling to help someone out.

Sadly this things happen often in my country, even this year two guys were killed by shoots by one fucker when riding in one of our amazing trails. Sometimes the life sucks.
  • 2 0
Something similar happened here in Italy... cyclists have been beaten in certain cases (as the robbers were armed with sticks and rods). Robbers often do not try to steal the bike as they look for smaller things too. In Milan it happened that road cyclists were assaulted and had the bike stolen as they stopped to pick up water at public fountains.

A poor man died in Rome (yes, the Caput Mundi) in 2008 (wounded in the head) after being unconscious for nearly two months in the hospital. In this case, robbers took the man's CD reader and a mobile phone.
  • 4 0
Holy crap! I cant imagine the feeling, all though it would make the perfect excuse to get a new bike. "Honey, my bike got robbed, I need to buy a new one".
  • 2 0
These are the most idiotic, retarded robbers I've ever seen! Did not one not look at the recording Gopro and think, "oh, it doesn't matter that he caught our faces on camera and could go to the police with the footage, I'm gonna let this guy keep recording anyway!" Utter retards!
  • 3 0
A whole lot of perfectly normal people have no clue why in the holy hell one would wear a frigging camcorder on his head.
  • 1 0
yeah the thing is, normally we are shredding downhill so they would have to try to catch me to get my carbon demo away from me. You know this guy is a monkey kuz he looked right at a camera with a blinking red light that indicates recording and didn't think anything of it. thats not cool man
  • 1 0
Clearly the robber has no idea about biking or extreme sport goods, because he looks right at the Gopro camera with an ugly ass face and thinks "Hmm must be part of the helmet" F**king ignorant people. • 9 1
No meaning to be vindictive but its "spelled". Spelt is wheat byproduct.
  • 2 3
Since you've decided to jump on the back of this user who is trying to make an informed statement about the appalling circumstances that are often faced by those denied an education, I'd like to point out your inaccuracies as well.

I believe what you meant to say is "Not meaning to be vindictive but it's "spelled". Spelt is a subspecies of common wheat." Incidentally, it is also the past tense of the word spelled.

You know, not meaning to be vindictive or anything.
  • 2 1
Initially, I wasn't going to reply as it's honestly not a big deal. But to go to all the effort you went to then make the exact same mistake that I pointed out initially. "Incidentally, it is also the past tense of the word spelled." How can a past tense have a past tense? That would be a past past tense,no? But hey, you learn something new every day: lmgtfy.com/?q=Spelt
  • 2 4
Ah, right you are. I meant to type spell. But you know what? It doesn't matter. My point was only that you were being an ass.

Anyway, screw this, I'm going for a ride.

I'm constantly afraid of people trying to steal my bike now. I had a bike stolen from my fenced back yard while I went inside to grab a drink and a couple hot dogs.

I found him 2 weeks later, he painted it and filed the serial number, then sold it. I heard wind of this, went and tried to get an answer, he brazenly admitted it to me and tried to pick a fight with me, I beat the shit out of him. Couple hours later his brother (who is actually a friend of mine) came to my place to find out why I beat his brothers eyes shut, when I explained it he just said "good reason, i'll see you tomorrow", saw the kid the next day with a broken nose and a swollen lip too. (He was about a year younger than me)
  • 1 0
This is nothing! (joke). Some idiot tried to nick my Pro Flex 857 (full Xt, carbon swing arm - sweet!) back in the day while the train I was on pulled into the station. Saw him out of the corner of my eye and we literally wrestled with the bike for a few seconds before I think he realised NO BUGGER was taking my pride and joy away. He ran off the train and I followed, pegging it across the station car park (Twyford, Berks btw). Again he realised I wasn't gonna stop, so he put on the brakes and shouted he had a knife while reaching for the inside of his jacket. Naturally I backed off and let him go. Very pissed that he's gotten away with it but I still had my bike, right? British Transport police were informed but did nowt.

Look how he was holding the gun like a bitch, and even holding the trigger while he picked up the bike. It either had no ammo, or safety was on. Now im twice the size of that prick, but seeing all those ques, I would have went for the gun. I may have gotten hurt, But im almost positive I could have ripped the gun away from him, turned off the safety, killed the main guy and wounded his buddies. If there even is ammo. Happily killed I should say. No sympathy for pathetic people like those 3. I love pretending Im good at hand to hand combat.

I am a good shot and at the right moment could have nailed both of them. Unfortunatly I know I would have got severe Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome as I am not a person trained to shoot people. It would be nice to know that somebody got these guys before the police did and got away with it, They have probably pulled many robberies besides this.

And leave it to some MERICAN' concealed gun carrying rights group to use this as an example for their cause. No shit! Its circulating on facebook right now. Yeah, pulling a gun would have been so much better than getting video on your GoPro of the confrontation that was more than enough to land both these douches in jail. • 2 2
And people mock me for carrying when I ride.
  • 7 0
you live in oregon, this happened in south africa so ya im not surprised they mock you.
  • 2 0
Well there is (was? Haven't heard of them since last summer) the hiking couple that was threatening mountain bikers at Sandy Ridge with a taser (for going too fast on a downhill only "multiuse" trail, built by and for mountain bikers).

I don't carry when biking in Oregon, mostly because I don't have a good way of carrying that is safe for myself, AND the gun itself, that also keeps the gun readily accessible. I've also NEVER been riding and wished I had one.
  • 1 0
I think if we were deep in the woods you don't really need it unless you think there is a chance you'll get into a survival situation or you're in bear country or you're just riding in a REALLY sketchy suburban park thats filled with drug dealers and stuff, haha
  • 1 0
Following my own logic, now that I have been thinking about it. I have never needed my survival/first aid kit or my CO2 inflator (for remounting a tubeless tire) either, but I would sure want them if needed. Same with a gun. I carry around a bunch of weight in the backcountry that I HOPE I will never need. Maybe I should keep my shiny Sig clean and buy a baby glock that I can trash.
  • 1 0
yeah true to that dude, always carry the stuff you won't need 99 percent of the time but when you do need that stuff ur gonna be damn glad you had it.
  • 1 0
 BRBR?? ahahahh
  • 1 1
i would rather get shot the give them my bike

  • 1 3
Reminded me of this guy: www.lafishblog.com/wp-content/uploads/bubba-blue.jpg at 0:42 seconds! Scary stuff!
  • 2 3
 a 26er = mountain bike
  • 13 16
 that's why everyone hates gypsies.
  • 16 3
Erm, I don't hate gypsies or any other particular racial group because I believe that individuals are responsible for their actions because they are assholes not because they are gypsies, black or even Hungarian.
  • 4 0
People are people and some people are shitty their race or ethnic background has nothing to do with (their) own shitty decision
  • 4 4
I dunno, but here in Hungary, most of the gypsies are thieves, robbers etc.
  • 4 1
Gypsies aren't a race at all. Has nothing to do with race.
  • 5 0
There is always a certain kind of dumbness in each and everyone of us - humans.
  • 5 0
I hate idiots.... it would be too easy if they all looked the same- in reality they come in all shapes, colours and sizes.
  • 2 3
i'm a teacher at a region you probably never heard of Máté.. it's called Ormánság, one of the poorest regions in Hungary. most of the villages are inhabited 100% by gypsies. high unemployment rate, giving birth waaay too early.. but i like those kids, i care about them. and i reallyreally fckin pissed, when some random dude writes his general BS about a topic wich he isn't related at all. so say thanks to your parents who make your life easy as f*ck.
  • 2 0
Ha megnézed a rablások, lopások mekkora százalékában volt cigány az elkövetö, meg fogsz lepödni. De amúgy én is ismerek rendes, normális cigányt.
  • 1 0
  • 3 6
 shitty bike anyway hahahah
  • 9 4
NOT WORTH DYING FOR, now had it been an s-works enduro he should have just taken a bullet.
