For adventure seekers and freeride fans, Salzburger Land is the place to be this summer. Flowy trails in the picturesque surroundings of Bikepark Leogang, Kitzsteinhorn and Bikecircus Saalbach Hinterglemm can now be accessed with just a single season card. Separated by just a few short minutes, the newly combined Freeride network could not be more diverse.

Freeriding at Kitzsteinhorn begins right at the edge of the glacier. Starting from Kaprun, the glacier lifts take you and your bike up to 2450m. The magnificent panorama of the glacier, surrounding peaks and Lake Zell will take your breath away. Once you have soaked up the views and let the brakes loose, there is a choice of three freeride trails. The 7.7km Wüstlau trail descends 1070m along a challenging and fun route. Speed freaks will prefer the Geißstein trail with its high speed passages. Both trails can be combined to offer an amazing 1500m descent, stretched out along 12 kilometers. If you like to catch flow then the Bachler trail is perfect! The super smooth, weaving track suits riders of all levels - although a bike suitable for occasional uphill riding is recommended.

Saalbach Hinterglemm has less vertical meters, but is a spacious freeride paradise with open, groomed trails. The Glemm valley area consists of four gondolas on four different faces and a trail network consisting of 400km. Some of these tracks are similar to those in bike parks, featuring wallrides, tables and huge berms. Others are purely natural – leaving you to enjoy everything that is most magnificent about mountain bike riding. The legendary Hacklberg trail will be double the length this summer – ideal for anyone looking to escape into the wilderness. A must-do for adventure seekers, is the demanding Big-5-BIKE Challenge – a XXL-Freeride-Tour, with 5000 vertical meters of shredding thanks to 5 different cable cars in Saalbach Hinterglemm and Leogang.

The third area is home to notorious UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Downhill and FMB World Tour competitions. The legendary Hangman trail, carved into the Asitz Mountain at Bikepark Leogang is one of the most fun and diverse tracks in the region. The forest, located just below the middle station, is riddled with exciting North Shore trails, wallrides, tables and flowy jumps. In fact, hidden amongst the timber is a new Broken Heart North Shore line. Frequently serviced, the tracks are always at the top of the game – perfect for both pros and amateurs. If you need to polish up on your skills before hitting the upper parts of the park, the newly expanded Rider’s Playground, located at the bottom station has everything you need to practice in a safe, controlled environment.
