[UPDATED] Elite Finals Results & Overall Standings from the Andorra DH World Cup 2023
@kingtut87: I've got eyes, I know its not perfect, but why not try new things to give people another perspective. If everyone opted to not try new things we'd still be living in caves and you wouldnt have the internet to complain about things let alone things called bikes... Im sure it will improve in time. Not giving it a chance to improve on it is somewhat unreasonable. Redbull took a little while to get things right and sometimes their coverage was a bit average with not many cameras etc. IWe weren't brilliant at walking when we were a toddlers but we kept trying to improve....... They have training wheels for kids bikes because they arent good at riding straight away...... Things take time, a little patience goes a long way. Instead of focusing on the quick easy negatives, maybe people should look at the drone from the perspective of 'at least they are trying something new to give the viewers a different view'

[UPDATED] Elite Finals Results & Overall Standings from the Andorra DH World Cup 2023
@JonnyTheWeasel: I agree, the video coverage is much the same as when Redbull covered the racing and to be honest I think its way better than the video coverage of the Crankworx downhill races. I tried watching some of the Crankworx DH races and turned it off more so due to the commentary. I find Tracey is very monotone and says the same thing for every rider. The semi finals are a waste of time and put the riders at additional risk just for our entertainment and no real benefit when they're only getting World Cup points not UCI points. The commentators & interviewers need a little improving but that is fixable, I just switch off to it as I am watching for the riding not the commentary. For people complaining about the drone footage for this race just remember why the road gap was closed off, it was bloody windy........ I dont mind the perspective the drone footage gives, its a nice change. Im fairly confident that this is new to the drone operator so in time Im sure they will adapt to whats needed for mountain biking. It all comes down to personal opinion with this and everything else in life. Free was good to watch the World Cups but the subscription isnt that much so I pay and still get to watch the racing which I enjoy. Times change and people need to change with it. Hopefully the riders get together and voice their opinions of the format at the end of the season and even more hopefully the UCI take note.......

Review: Vittoria Mazza Enduro Race Tires - A Compound Too Far?
@Becciu: Once on the rim I always spray the beads with a water and detergent mix to help them snap in to the rim bead easily. Saves the hassle of when a small section of tyre bead wont move in to the rim bead. Rims vary enough that some are tougher to get a tyre on than others. Theyre a good snug fit on the Spank rims which I do like.

Review: Vittoria Mazza Enduro Race Tires - A Compound Too Far?
Ive been running Mazza 4C 2.4" tyres for probably 2 years now and rate them higher than the other big brand tyres. I am a heavier rider and run 28psi in the front, 30psi in the rear with Cushcore in both and fitted to Spank rims. To the touch the compound impressed me, they just felt like they'd have good grip. They snap in to the rim bead really well and Ive never had one not run true. Have had Schwalbe and Maxxis with 'wobbles' with some Maxxis that bad they hit the frame. I love the grip they have and they do last a good amount of time, even better than tyres Ive previously used. In all the time Ive been using them Ive not yet had one come off the rim nor burp. So impressed with them that I now run the 2.6" Mazza 4C tyres on my E-bike (with Cushcore 26psi F, 28psi R). That came with some DT Swiss hybrid rims which I will replace with Spank wheels if they ever need to be. Again though, the tyres seat in the bead really well and have never burped or come off. Another thing I like about the Mazzas is how well the sidewalls wear. With Maxxis the sidewall rubber would wear and the threads would show through whereas Mazza does not seem to do so. Be it on my trail bike or E-bike my riding is more about the descending so I put them through their paces. Personally I can't fault them. Ive tried various brands over the years looking for 'the' tyre that gives me what I want and these certainly do. Everyone has an opinion on whats good or bad be it from personal experience or just jumping on the band wagon to praise or slam something, but for me these are definitely worth trying.

Interview: Jess Blewitt on Hitting the Big Sends at Red Bull Hardline 2022
To her be keen to get an invite to Hardline is awesome in itself. To do the features she did before her crash is bloody awesome.

Qualifying Photo Epic: Red Bull Hardline 2022
Agreed. I think its awesome that she was riding such an insane track. I thought being the first and only female riding that there'd be quite a bit of footage of her but I couldnt really find much. Couple of short clips on her Insta is about all I could find. Maybe I was watching all the wrong video clips........ Would love PB to do an article of her experience at Hardline along with some video footage and photos. 'hint hint' Awesome photos btw!!

Pinkbike Poll: Would You Pay to Watch World Cup DH Racing?
You're asking me if I'd pay to watch XC and DH, and how much I'd be willing to pay...... Based on zero information as to what Discovery are actually offering for said payment, there's no way I can give an answer. If Discovery are floating the idea of whether to charge to view, then they need to come out and say what their intentions are. Value for money is one thing but nobody wants to waste their money coverage that is worthless. May as well ask how long a piece of string is ________________________________________________________ nope, it's longer __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ :)

Video: Cathro's Vision - Pinkbike Racing EP2
'Since becoming a father, I feel more invested in Aimi doing well. Does that make sense?' Makes perfect sense and just another reason why you are so well respected Ben Cathro and reinforces why you are the right man for this position on the PBR Team whether you race or not. She is one very lucky young woman to have you in her corner and I look forward to seeing her progress under your guidance. As everyone else has said, what an amazing thing you are doing Pinkbike and not just putting this team together but for the quality way in which you are giving us an insight in to it all. Excellent work to everyone and I cant wait to see the next episode. I probably shouldn't have read all your comments before watching this as they were enough to get the emotions stirring!

Understanding the UCI's New Policies for Transgender Athletes
I thought this was a good article. It's not giving the answer but giving a good explanation of what the UCI has done to try and make it fairer. And I say 'fairer' not 'fair' as it is a work in progress and there is still a lot to be learnt. It's new, it's different but it's here and we need to keep an open mind to change be it in sport or elsewhere in our lives. Agree or disagree, like it or not, this is happening and as I see it the UCI is trying to do their best to make it as fair as they can. Sure we can have our own opinions but most of what I have read in the comments has no substance at all. It is a complex thing and there is no easy solution but change starts somewhere and this is what the UCI are trying to do. Extending the transition time to allow for muscle mass to lower sounds reasonable and even if there is some measurable difference after this time, is it a real advantage or just a number. Kate Weatherly has not won the overall World Cup and from what I read, only one podium. Womens DH fields are small and so varied in ability levels that big winning margins are not uncommon at all. Rachel Atherton has won countless World Cup races by big margins against all the other 'top' women so it does happen and will be more common at lower level events. Margins depend on many factors and in a category where numbers are small and abilities so varied I think it's a bit narrow minded to just look at the margins. If I was a male wanting to transition to a female to take make the most of the 'advantage' I'd have over the other women, I'd be picking a sport where I could make a hell of a lot more money. For me, if the other females feel strongly enough about this be it for or against in any sport, it's up to them to air their thoughts/concerns with their respective governing bodies. Like anything, you can find facts for or against whatever point of view you want to put across. Move with the times, be accepting of change. People are still people no matter whether they are male, female, straight, gay, bisexual or transgender, religious, non religious etc and deserve to be treated with respect. How would you feel if your child or family member was transgender and still wanting to compete in a sport because they love sport and them having to endure all of this .....

Must Watch: One of the World's Best FPV Drone Pilots Chases Remy Metailler
Absolutely amazing! Always enjoy watching Remy's videos, the dude can certainly ride no question about that. This gave such a great new perspective on what it is that Remy is riding and how there's no way this old bloke could even contemplate such a thing. Drone pilot Gabriel, what a talent in his own right and to think 2 time runner up to the World Champion. Keep at it, you deserve to win one. That could not be anywhere as easy as he made that look, shadows, trees and the narrow gaps between them. Seriously impressed. Hope to see more of this type of filming in the future.
