Day two of Interbike 2013 was the last day of the dreaded dirt demo. Dreaded not for the sick bikes, great people and free beer, but purely for the heat and blinding wind that can wreak havoc on everyone and everything.
Shuttle bus blues.
Mike Dettmers of Intense Bicycles.
Making sure the bike testers were legit. The bike patrol were giving out tickets to anyone caught walking their bikes on the trails.
Bernd Stucke and Landon Sterling of Evoc.
Bootleg Canyon claims another victim.
Dirt demo in one word: HOT.
When it's past 12pm the desert hydration station picks up the pace.
"Hey you're Margus Riga aren't you? Go f*ck yourself."
Seth Beiden of Camelback.
Gabe Shroder of Smith Optics.
Demo board.
Mechanic's best friend.
If you don't bring your own pedals to the dirt demo, you're stuck with the dreaded flats bin.
Yet another way to use bike components to open beer. It would be interesting to know how many different ways there actually are?
The faster the booths get pulled down, the better the beer tastes.
They make 3 inch drywall screws? I don't think I have ever seen a three inch drywall and I have put up some drywall in my time! What the heck would be the point of a three inch drywall screw?
I'm a drywaller for a living.....and they definitely make 3" drywall screws! Just Don't use them often. I've done 3 layers of 5/8" DW for fire rating then put 3/4" plywood over top of the DW....2 ⅝" of material...need a minimum of 3" screws...the ones we use were 3 ½" DW screws.
As a local rider, I suffer the fuego del diablo at Bootleg Canyon every day the temp exceeds 90 F. You gotta check it out at dawn. That park has the desert magic.
Bootleg canyon was super fun, you guys have some amazing trails here! Drastically different than where I'm from. I had a blast, can't wait to ride out here again.
Jesus Christ people, I remember when this site was about riding...comments like most of those warrant rebranding as pinkbitch.com! Go ride for shit's sake!
it just kills me that PB doesnt pick a picture for POD if the rider isnt wearing a helmet because they dont want to set a 'bad example'. yet they post shit like that.. (and also use it for the pic on the home page)
I works for some stuff, but not all the time. I had to desaturate my stuff for Rocky Mountain as it had "too much color and contrast" when paired up in an article with Margus. But on this it works 100%.
There was also a trek commuter, I think the "Big Earl" that had an opener built into the toptube on the frame, and someone makes a headset spacer with an opener built in as well.
Good luck with that. I guarantee the older out of shape locals there would smoke anyone down those trails unless you're a legit racer.
But yeah they could lose a few.
What the heck would be the point of a three inch drywall screw?
Man I need to get out of the office more!
a match made in hell
c'mon pb, make up your mind!
