What's the big deal? If he was on clips he may have come 3rd!! I'm this day and age racing on flats is a disadvantage. Hence why the vast majority of racers at this level are clipped in. This old obsession with flat pedals is very boring.

Whatever bike Nico "won" the world championship on deserves much more coverage than a 2nd place achieving one. I hope this never happens in our sport again it's just wrong. Nico deserved all the credit that day, he was my hero back then not bloody Palmer.

Is anybody else absolutely bored shitless of seeing Palmers bloody 2nd place achieving Intense M1?? I've never in my life know of any athlete of any sport in the world to get so much credibility for not actually winning a world championship. I've been bored with it since the 1990s and I'm even more bored of it now.

Mondraker Foxy Carbon XR - Review
I'd personally bypass this spec and go straight for a Dune model.

I have to say that after having the latest shimano brakes I found that they were very over rated. I had nothing but trouble with my SLX front brake. My XTs had lacklustre power. They looked great but I was left wanting. I wasn't expecting anything from my Guide brakes and I have been blown away with their performance. I have been riding for 25 years and they are without doubt the best brakes I've ever owned. I just hope they prove to be reliable. Time will tell.

@mrchristj unfortunately you must have been unlucky enough to have a faulty set. My guides are incredible they are the best brakes I've ever had. They are fair superior to my past Saints, new SLX and XTs. Never thought I'd hear myself say that.

I remember that horrible feeling of pulling the cantilever brakes and nothing happening and you actually starting going faster on a dh section. Very scary especially if you had ridden through wet grass.

This women was a legend. Back in the days of pure mountain bikes. To handle those things with ridiculously long stems, no suspension, cantilever brakes, bars ends and crap tyres they were true hero's of our sport. I often think how fast would people like her and Jason McRoy would go on modern machinery. Probably at light speed!!!
