Intense Team Gets Feral in France
Busted for drugs and spent time in jail tobius. Massive fall from grace.

Yep and we all know what a brutal mass murderer old Columbas was. Another great role model I suppose ;-)

Oh and with regards to Ratboy look at how long he has been in the sport now and the true athlete he had turned into. If he followed Palmers way of doing things he would be up in a cloud of smoke by now!

That's exactly what he did...exploded and vanished as quick as he made a bang. Oh and yeah perhaps the Rockwell/weed issue wasn't the best choice of role models in my line up...I did miss out Giove though for the same reason.

Thanks yakimonti I totally agree with you. My hero's back then we're the likes of Jason McCoy who come back from serious injury to be a major force to be reckoned with and the 1st British rider to race for an American team. Myles Rockwell, John tomac Anne Caro Nico Vouiloz etc. Proper athletes and role models with true staying power. I don't need to watch The Miserable Champion since I've been racing mountain bikes since before he started albeit on a much lower level. I hate it when people say things about MX gear and how he made the sport cool. The sport would have naturally progressed without his influence anyway. As I said before pull your head out of his arse and have a bloody good look at the proper role models for the sport back then. If you just like to get drunk and party then yeah great he is amazing. But if you want true influences and dedicated athletes for the sport look elsewhere.

Couldn't disagree more. Ratboy is who is is because of Ratboy not Palmer. His influences are his team mates and current riders not some "has been" from 10 years ago. Another thing about Palmer, I couldn't believe how much attention he got from coming 2nd in a World Championship. Nico should have got all the attention after all he did bloody well WIN it and truly deserved too. Just because a bloke likes to party didn't mean his a role model, it's no big deal.

You Palmer fan boys need to pull your heads out of his miserable arse. There were far superior riders during his (very short) time in mountain biking and much better role models too.

SRAM Guide RS Brake - Review
I've always been a Shimano fan when it comes to brakes and my last bike had a set of xt's on it. To be honest I've always thought the they were overrated. My new bike came with Guide brakes and I was dubious at 1st but I have been blown away with them. They are, without doubt, the best brakes I've ever used with far more modulation AND power than shimanos. Editor must be comparing these to saints or zee as they are far more powerful than my xt's.

Fly Racing Launches an Expanded MTB Product Line
Great looking kit at great prices. It's about time we saw some products that normal people can offered getting and good mention. I for sure would seriously consider their kit for future purchases.

New Record: Robbie Maddison's 185 ft Drop
I've got a problem with this. This is a mountain bike website not a motor bike website. You might as well have F1 cars, Aeroplanes, speedboats and dare I say it...Road bikes if your going to report on motor bike stuff. Get back to the correct subject matter please.
