Richie Rude Signs With Red Bull
@jrocksdh: it is indeed good they banned it at underaged events. Imagine 12 year old kids being addicted to double espressos due to racing bikes for fun...

@Rubberelli: the results of that test is exactly why many pro cyclists shit a double espresso before a race and why many body builders drink espressos before their work outs. Caffeine doesn't give you more energy or power, but it helps you drain more out of your reserves. Usually your body stops at a certain percentage of the reserves to keep the body safe in case it needs more later, but the caffeine helps drain more energy than you could without. Same effect is with drugs, only that helps to drain your energy even more until the point which becomes unsafe.

Pinkbike Poll: Which Major Component is the Least Evolved Part of a Mountain Bike?
Vittoria seems to be the main brand (successfully) experimenting with material. For example their new road tyre Speed Corsa is made with cotton and has graphene infused, which makes it the fastest rolling tyre available on the market. Many of their my tyres are now also infused with graphene. I also noticed how much more supply for example a Vittoria Peyote is compared to it's equivalents from Maxxis (Ikon) and Schwalbe (Racing Ralph) (by touching/bending all 3 of them with my fingers off the shelve at a bike shop)

Just a small update, I found that Ergon and Pro also have some better anatomically designed saddles. SQ Lab still looks like the best to me based on the dozens of different saddles I've tested and which aspects I did and did not like.

That's the caffeine working for you. Even worse if you drink coffee since coffee has more caffeine.

Funny how everyone hates energy drink but nobody hates coffee. As comparison, Red Bull has 30mg of caffeine / 100mL, while coffee has 40mg of caffeine / 100mL. An espresso even has 212mg / 100mL (you drink less of it though but it hits harder because you drink it in one sip). Yes energy drink also has taurine, but after more than a decade of research no one has yet found that it would cause any harm. Also sugar wise, it is not more than any other type of soda or how much sugar many people put in their coffee. In no way am I saying that energy drink is good for you, because it's certainly not healthy. But I am saying the fear that people have about it is a bit overdone, especially since nobody says anything about the very high percentage of people who drink several coffee per day. But if you drink one energy drink a week everyone (including these coffee drinkers, smokers, fat people, etc) will tell you that you will die. There's no need to be afraid of it and act like it's the devil. Just as with any other type of unhealthy stuff (coffee, soda, chocolate, snacks, bacon, beer, etc) keep the intake limited and keep it only for special occasions.

Every time you say it's cold, out of nowhere a Northern will appear to tell you it's not.

I dare to disagree. For example look at where dirt jump, slopestyle and BMX riders were 10 years ago. The riding level of the best rider back then would probably not even get you a 30%-discount-on-parts-sponsorship nowadays.
