First Ride: Santa Cruz Bronson Carbon - 650B Ripper
currency converter doesnt work as $2000 is currently worth 1500euros, but the $2000 frame gets sold for 2200 euros in Europe... Do not talk about tax, there is no way it adds up.

Opinion: The Enduro World Series, DH1 and Pissing in the Drinking Water?
Dunno, still very excited for the series, but it is not all gravy for the average biker. My team have been doing the tribe 10000 for a number of years, I got my EMBA licence for it, then the race sells out in an hour or something... Basically the best races have suddenly become impossible to get into, with very few events of the same type taking their place (i.e. most enduros that you can get a place in will be grassroots/regional affairs).

Rallye Hivernal De Levens
The numbers for this one were quite low: 21km and 1100m vertical. The first climb was about 1h pedaling, the second climb was a hike a bike for a good half hour and the third transfer was pretty short. There was quite a lot of uphill sprinting in the stages tho. There were drinks at the start of the 1st and 3rd stage, but generally not having a bag with a couple of tools and water is a bit reckless.

Tested: KS ETen Seatpost
Ice lift V8 dropper post.
Positives: 27.2mm, cable is in a fixed position, 550g, extremely easy to service, less play than my Crankbrothers and KS, 90 euro with remote.
Negatives: only 90mm travel. Been using it for a couple months, only niggle has been relatively frequent readjustment of the cable tension.

Pacific Northwest Deep Winter Gear Review - 10 Suggestions to Beat the Chill
Same, I have a 300 lumen branded light which cost me 160euros and a chinese light that cost me 30... The branded one is better built, lighter and has no cables... But it's now my backup light as the chinese one lights up wayyyyy more trail. I would strongly recommend buying 2 chinese ones, for 60 quid you get well over 1000 lumen and can use one on the bars one on helmet which would allow you to pretty much ride as fast as during the day. Plus if anything happens to one light then you have a spare. The fact that the light + mounts + battery pack + rear red led costs the same as a beanie really says it all.

2013 Predictions: Matt Wragg's Euro Enduro Edition
That is such a black and white way to look at it. Sprinters dont win marathons because they are good at running. A good triathlete isnt going to beat a swimmer/roady/runner of the same caliber. Do we get to belittle their achievements also? There is only so much training you can do, dedicated enduro riders exist and are both very talented and hard working. I am just suprised at how so many people effectively insult them. The only succesful DHers in Enduro are Vouilloz, the greatest off road biker of all time, who coincidently lives in the birthplace of enduro riding and thus has been exposed to the format from the start, and Dan Atherton, WC downhiller, WC winning 4x rider, BMX racer.
