Pinkbike Poll: Why Do You Love It?
I love racing. Everything about it, training, the stress on the start line, relief after having a good run, meeting up with hundreds of bikers... As a bonus this means being fit and exploring new trails, areas, regions, countries even! "Racing is Life - Everything Else is Just Waiting" Steve McQueen

Lapierre's New DH Bike - First Look
I really like how the gave it oldschool geometry, so that in 2 years they can take a cm off the back and add 1-2 out the front and sell a bunch more bikes, thats very clever!

Video: Downtime With Steve Smith
I've never noticed any one complain about his style. I think he is probably the most entertaining podium rider. Similarly to Blenkinsop and Hill, you can tell he is on the very edge of grip/control, whereas Gwin/Atherton/Minnaar etc all appear to be in full control. Controlled agression, halfway between the loose flat (or ex-flat) pedal riders and clipped in podium regulars. You cant possibly say his run in Leogang last year wasnt stylish, and that was with a world title on the line!

The New Scottish Royalty: Enduro World Series, Round 2 - Tweedlove
A riding buddy told me he won around €200 for coming 14th in a french DH race over 10 years ago... Sponsors and prize pools come and go in waves I guess. Hopefully these guys have podium/top10 bonuses written into their contracts! Although you would be surprised how many of the top 20 are not actually professional racers and have to work on the side.

Day One Results: EWS Round 2 TweedLove
EWS facebook confirmed there was an issue (probably with timing), it's still not clear is they can get the times for the 4th stage or if it will be cancelled. What happened during the BDS when there was an issue, could they recover the times?

Day One Results: EWS Round 2 TweedLove
He was told "no one can win on a 26", so he is aiming to get a 26th place finish and still win the overall!

Ask Pinkbike Anything - DH vs. AM Bikes, One-By Rings And Tire Widths
As everyone above has said, the most important thing is to feel comfortable on the bike. So #1 is putting the right bar/stem, if the bike is big enough, try going down to a 40/50mm stem. Brakes drastically change the speed at which you can ride, shimano Xt or Zee can be had cheap enough and blow everything else out of the water. Big soft tyre in front, heavy enough tyre out back to prevent punctures. Then if needs be, pike and good wheels, but these are very expensive and only incrementally improve the bike... I'm a huge fan of 1x10 drivetrains, but that depends on your fitness and geography. 125mm dropper post is obligatory (or 150mm).

XC Bike Checks: 4 World Cup Race Machines
Would love to know the weight of some of those! Also are they all running foam grips for weight saving, or are some of them running silicone grips for a little more comfort?
