So cool to see my home town make it on PB in such grand fashion ... Almost surreal knowing that I was part of building so much of what was in that video
Nice work Ben. Great to see where you have put yourself. Your hard work paid off, hope to get a ride on some of the trails you have contributed to.
Cheers brother
NWA looking awesome! I'll be there first weekend in June to ride and kayak. Can anyone point me to a resource for learning more about the trails in that video? I'm not a dirt jumper but will have my '16 Stumpy FSR and want to check out all those spots.
@hcole623: oztrailsnwa.com - Bentonville is a main hub with trails like Slaughter Pen, Blowing Springs, Lake Atalanta, Rail Yard all within 10-15 min. Further out are some awesome trails as well - Kayaking the Mulberry (from Turner Bend) and Buffalo (from Boxley Bridge) is also some top spots.
In order to get the full experience in Bentonville, it's recommended you ride the trail on a Wal-Mart bike. Then be sure to return it to the store after your trip is over.
I lived in northern AR for 2 years - Bull Shoals area. The potential for that state is unlimited. It's population is very low, especially in the north. The people that I met all throughout that area are unique and incredibly friendly. I haven't been back in 15 years but now that there is more than just Syllamo in that area, I suppose I have a reason to now.
Another 100+ miles are being built by 4 professional trail building companies. It's unbelievable here, the trails can pretty much all be accessed by a central paved trail that goes down to fayetteville.
It always helps to have a rider like Tyler McCaul shredding the trails, and what you saw was a focus on the flowing parts of the trails with high berms etc...speed sections. But there are PLENTY of rocky sections here that will test even the most skilled technical rider. Watch for some upcoming films that will highlight "mere mortal" riders hitting some of the rocky technical sections!
We've got rocks, and here's proof. This is more of an indication of the typical trails in Arkansas, and the beauty of the Ozarks. No shredders highlighted here, but it gives you an idea of what to expect! www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilX9H2Vj-9c
I ride slaughter pen a few times most weeks, 40 mins from the house, but only 15 from work, so I just pack everything in the car and hit it after work. For my money, best place to ride around this area. No annoying hikers usually, and definitely no horses!! Different trails for skill levels, free ride and downhill sections, plus it connects to paved greenway. Wish I lived in bentonville lol
That S berm section he was doubling though!! I have some friends that moved there about 5 years ago, and I remember thinking they were crazy for wanting to move to AR. Now I'm thinking I'm the crazy one for not going to visit them...
Hey everyone! Here are the tracks featured in the video: Money Rain Down by Big Black Delta The Hop (feat. Bajka) by Radio Citizen Making Breakfast by Twin Peaks
Wish they would have included a couple of the more natural cut trails such as My Sequoia and Kessler but nice to see some publicity for all the work put into the trail systems in NWA!!
As a Southern California transplant I must say living here in bentonville ar is a real treat. I'm telling ya, the trails are kept immaculent and there are tons of events and workshops to teach the little ones to ride!
So awesome to see the trails I ride on being ripped by a pro! So epic! He makes jumping thoughs berms looks so easy but it's a lot more bigger in life compared to the video!
