Round one of the 2013 4X Pro Tour kicked off last weekend in Szczawno-Zdroj, Poland. Maintained by Andrzej Skrzypczak and his team the track is famed for its varied lines and 50 ft doubles. Tomas Slavik from Czech Republic stole the men's pro elite final and current British 4X champion Katy Curd won first place in the pro elite women's category.
not intending to troll or anything, pure curiousity: is anybody running 650B (or even 29??) in the 4x pro tour? or the bigger wheel is significantly slower at the start for such short race? I would like a coverage of bikes at 4x tour
I haven't ever seen anyone on the bigger wheels, I guess there's no need for them because most of the tracks is not too rough and the bike should be possibly easy to manouver, although I haven't tried the 29er yet...
a big reason why I believe it was a stupid move by the UCI to not run it along side the downhill!!! It was always so much fun to go and watch and it just added more a show element to each racing round... not to mention more exposure for the manufacturers... Bring it back to the main UCI series!
Was that big jump an option that jumped the other line? Best 4x course I've seen yet. I've missed 4x hopefully some new rivalry's will develop to compare to Lopes vs Graves. The battle for second in the men was a great race.
4x is the only form of mountain bike racing where there are more than two riders on the track during the same run. I know I would love to see some head to head downhill racing!
Those jumps are fkn huge! And the jump them on bikes which are the same as those of XC racers, only the geomoetry is different. I like it how one Polish Pro has put it: any woose can ride a World Cup DH course and stay on the bike all the way down, but in 4X or BMX, he'll either quit before the first jump or end up in a hospital
you have no idea what you are talking about....ya maybe it aint the funest thing to watch for you. 4x has an elegence only understood completely by those who race it. and the people who dont race most the time just dont have the guts to go bar to bar or elbow to elbow at high speed with another rider. and if you dont have interest in 4x you dont have to watch the video you good for notin hater sladevalleydh!
