Video: Canadian MTB Communities in BC are Shifting From Resources to Recreation
Balance is the key but we must also acknowledge that the resource industries act as a big brother to the smaller tourist industry. Imagine if mountain biking on crown land became the driver of the local economy to the point where all trail development was scrutinized to the level of the resource industries. The general, non-mountain biking public would have as much right to the land use planning decisions as any rider would. Along with this would come heavy liability for use, which would be followed by insurance requirements, which would be followed by user fees, which would be followed by legislated trail standards, which would be followed by enforcement, which would be followed by usage restrictions, and on and on and on.... We must be careful what we wish for.

2017 Norco Sight Carbon - First Look
Is this not a Canadian brand being showcased on a Canadian website? Could we not get prices quoted in Canadian dollars? Regardless, and I know that this is a tired gripe but $3800 CDN for a frame only?! One foot further out the door of this sport for me.

Tippie, Doerfling and Stowards: Generations - Video and Photo Epic
I ask a legit question about the legality of the trails and I get down voted below the threshold? This is an area located in the Chilcotin (although not in any parks or protected areas) and it does not appear on Trailforks. Is it not reasonable to ask whether or not bikes are welcomed?

Can anyone tell me if this is a legal/sanctioned riding area?

Intense Primer 29 - Review
Beautiful bike, but I'm getting a little tired of hearing that the bikes are spec'd according to what the emoloyees of the brand are riding. Even at this level in the market, the variability of riders huge and anyone that is buying at this level most likely has the means to build it up however they choose. Why not ask the average rider what they would want IF they had to pay full retail?

Support Needed to Secure Recreational Access to the South Chilcotin
After reading the ENTIRE draft plan, I find it to be a reasonably balanced proposal to manage the park activities. It recognizes all of the values that are currently in play and does not exclude any. The changes that are proposed will have an impact on every aspect of the park, including commercial operations, but we must remember that the ecological integrity must be considered above all other potential values including tourism. This is the evolution of land management that is being applied across BC to all other industries whereby the recognition of the land and it's natural processes comes first. The fact that the area has become so popular is the reason that this plan became necessary, and the marketing campaigns have focused on the "special wilderness experience". Of particular note was a line on page 35 which read "Some bikers have been noted racing downhill." I don't believe that this is a common occurrence, but how many videos have we seen in the last few years with riders drifting corners, blasting through creek crossings or launching off trail features? Perception vs Reality, who wins?
