In the following video, Johann Potgieter takes you to the 2013 GoPro Course Check. Just imagine the track under a blue sky with the sun shining down on your heads: this will be what’s waiting for you in May 2014!
This year, the European iXS Series includes seven races in five different nations. It provides the participants with a first-class choice of venues and this weekend it is time for the first race in Maribor.
Maribor is a name that is well-known among the riders and especially those belonging to the downhill elite. After all, the city of 100 000 inhabitants has played host to the World Cup before the turn of the century when there were still races in Kaprun and Nevegal. And as the last season definitely has already proven: even today, Maribor is the perfect stage to make history.
The scenery is absolutely breathtaking! Unfortunately, in 2013 Maribor was not able to unfold its real beauty due to heavy rainfall over several days. But with a date in spring rather than late summer, the conditions are expected to be better this season. In addition, the fast and popular 2.6 km track has 450 meters of descending on offer, which will definitely call for some huge names of the downhill elite such as Rémi Thirion (FRA - Riding Addiction), Markus Pekoll (AUT - MS Mondraker), Cameron Cole (NZL - Commencal Riding Addiction), Brendan Fairclough (GBR - Gstaad-Scott) and last year’s overall winners Zarja Cernilogar and Miran Vauh (SLO - Blackthorn-GT).
"yeah"......"yeah"
