The Washington grown clothing company Imperial Motion has recently added Matt Orlando to their team as both an aspiring musician and the first downhill/mtb athlete to join the Imperial family. Imperial Motion is a lifestyle clothing brand that is centered around the idea of continual change and evolution, growing and shaping their clothing line to fit the needs and wants of the public. Due to this "never established" approach to business, Imperial Motion is able to provide clothing for all different situations: from casual hoodies for staying warm to button down shirts for that hot date you have on Friday, comfortable socks for everyday use to stylish boardshorts for hot summer afternoons. Whatever the occasion, Imperial Motion has you covered from head to toe.

Welcome to the Harbor
Without a large trail system in Gig Harbor, Matt had to make his own and his backyard was the perfect location.

Matt suited up entirely in Imperial Motion gear with his new TR500.
Imperial Motion
Just a brief look into the products of Imperial Motion. Check out the rest of their line up at www.imperialmotion.com

Matt s TR500 in all its glory.
Transition's new TR500 equipped with Race Face components, the SR Suntour Rux, and Continental tires, is Matt's weapon of choice.

May as well put a triple in the middle of a steep zone.
Matt decided that the easiest way to start his gnarly/steep/off camber section of trail was to build a triple over an existing trail..

Brown pow.
Bermsplosion after the biggest jump in the line.

Bee stings to the eye are counter productive.
Matt was attacked by a bee first thing in the morning on our last day of filming the jump line. His eye was swollen shut in the matter of half an hour, but that didn't stop him from pushing on.

Duct tape fixes everything... right
  Duct tape fixes everything.

Hitting the jumpline with one eye.. because who needs depth perception
Who needs depth perception? As it turns out, hitting 40 foot jumps with one eye is kind of sketchy so we decided to take a sandwich break in hopes that the magical healing powers of sandwiches would help with the swelling..

Road Gap
Sweet and simple style says more than words ever could.

Tables so flat..
A nice and flat table on the 40 foot blind stepdown/hip.

Jump Line whips
  Nothing beats a solid whip.

Harbor Life

Matt would like to thank his sponsors for their continued, and new, support through out the 2014 season:

I can't see out of my left eye permanently. Some days it sucks, most days it doesn't. I still keep riding but the depth perception thing is a bitch.

Just built a little jump trail with a huge bee hive in the middle part hoping it would keep people from fucking with it too much. Now I'm starting to question the wisdom of that choice.

Unfortunately the trails recently were destroyed by the property owners... Ive been lucky enough to call those woods my own for years but now its time for a new zone if you still want to dig!
  • 1 0
Aww bummer man too bad that seems to be the case all over. I'm down to dig a new zone. Shoot me a pm if you want help.
  • 2 0
My god, they didnt destroy that pristine looking bush along with the trails did they?
Looks like somewhere in jurassic park!

a small incision will reduce swelling by draining the fluids, better than duct tape anyways, my 2 cents

I can't see nothin, you gotta open my eye. Cut me Mick...
  • 7 1
I'm not sure recommending that people cut their eye lids open is such a smart move really , antihistamine is probably the safer bet.

  • 2 0
Sorry man the trails have been since destroyed. We shot this edit almost 6 months ago and shortly after everything you see in the edit was either blocked or flattened by a tractor. All good things must come to an end i guess...

I think I might know where it is, then. North side of town east of Crescent Valley? I was bummed because I live right there and it's a 5min ride to the trailhead from my house. I saw a lot was getting bulldozed back there.
