Pinkbike Poll: Does Bike Weight Matter?
@dfiler: IDK anything about subconscious justification, but I do know my wife weights 105 lbs and she feels much more stable on her DH bike compared to her trail bike. She doesn't get bucked around as much on her DH even though she is riding rougher trails. Feel free to reply with innuendos.

Pinkbike Poll: Does the Current Method of Mountain Bike Classification Make Sense?
@brianpark: WTF is a "full size truck?" Are you referring to a standard cab F150 or a supercrew cab F150 or a Ford Superduty standard cab or a Ford Superduty supercrew cab? Or maybe you are referring to a Nissan Titan XD which could be considered in between a F150 and Superduty - - - uh I mean a half ton and a 3/4 ton - - - unless you are referring to the one ton. Oh wait - - - the size of the truck reflects towing capacity? Or does it? Full size truck - - - get the truck outta here.

There's a Fine Line Between Clever and Stupid - Opinion
True dat. When I got a DH bike, I went from a 155 trail bike to a 125. Wish I had gone down in travel sooner, but my ego wouldn't let me. I used to think I needed the longer travel because I was sooooo bad ass.

There's a Fine Line Between Clever and Stupid - Opinion
@BiNARYBiKE: No - I have not ridden a bike with SBG. It sounds like it works. A buddy of mine has and he said the same thing as you. I'm not avoiding SBG, but between the expense of a frame/fork swap and the fact that I'm fine with my current speed, it's not worth it.

The long, low, and slack trend is probably reaching its end and will swing back the other way. This will be the first spring I do not get a new frame. Last spring I got a carbon Scout and really like it. The new Scout is longer, lower, and slacker, but I've reached my max, so why bother. SBG isn't enough to get my money; it reminds of a curved tv - different, but not better.

Transition Releases New Carbon Smuggler – Video
You can still run the DHR, but depending on your riding style, you may get quite a bit of rub on corners. On my carbon Patrol I ran 2.5 tires on Derby rims and it rubbed the finish down to the raw carbon. On my carbon Scout I started out on 2.4 tires on DT FR570 rims and the tires still rubbed the finish off. Now I run 2.3 HR IIs. I learned two things. One, I don't care about the finish on my bike. Two, I didn't benefit from wider tires.

Raked & Rated - 6 MTB Trail Sculpters
The review for the Trail Boss tools is accurate. I'll add that I was really impressed with the quality and feel. I had high expectations because of the price and was not letdown. I use them, instead of standard hardware store tools, when I'm on foot or need to be discrete. The connections do come loose, but my understanding is that will stop once they break in. Similar to getting a new bike where you need to tighten stuff for the first few weeks.

A Walmart Bike vs Whistler Bike Park
@scott-townes: Yeah - I agree. In fact I'm surprised Walmart even pays their employees because it's not like the employees had a choice to accept Walmart's job offer. Plus, Walmart employees are not allowed to quit or find another job. Super unethical on Walmart's behalf. Ohhh and don't get me started on calling the cops. I think it's criminal when a large taxpayer utilizes the very services they help pay for. GASP! Don't call the cops when your bike gets stolen, cuz you probably could have purchased a better lock.
