ok maybe if a rock catche your frame or something. and yeah i'm 220 and I get flatspots because of the mountains I ride at, they are super rocky, and i'm talking downhill, not enduro. Going fast brings higher impact, especially with all the super rocky trails, i'm not saying I doubt carbon rims. Also, who do you know that has ridden a broken carbon rim ? cause if its cracked and it takes a big impact in the same spot, it's pretty much finished.

@airmiller44 rims take direct impact. Frames and cranks don't, a flat spot in an aliminum rim = a crack to a carbon rim, rendering it unrideable.
