At SCOTT, we are very fortunate to have a talented crew working for us both in the office, and out in the proverbial fields. We recently held our 2015 Gravity launch in Châtel, France and Morgins, Switzerland - two of Europe's most fabled downhill and freeride destinations. Having invited journalists from all over the world, we loaded up the Gstaad-SCOTT team bus, shipped out the likes of Brendan Fairclough, Nico Vink, Andi Tillmann and Vincent Tupin, these few days were sure to be a good time. Morgins is a special place for us at SCOTT, and the trails there are built for several reasons. One, they're just flat out RAD, and two, they are one of the primary trails we use for testing our bikes.

With the crew we had on hand, bangers were droppin' left and right. Keep your eye out for the Châtel Bike Festival (formerly known as the Châtel Mountain Style) in a couple of weeks. The course was designed by Nico Vink, and this happens to be the smallest feature. Brendan and Nico enjoyed sending it all day long. For more information, check out www.chatel.com

I think they made up for that by signing, arguably, the best rider in the world.
  • 71 11
 Yeah, Sam Hill
  • 225 12
ustemuf, did they sign up your mum?
  • 28 2
they aren't the fastest, but scott have the real good freeriders
  • 31 3
yeah, brendawg needs to learn how to use his pedals...
  • 19 2
Hahahahaha Jervis that was a work of art
  • 42 4
Spesh do have Matty 'style for' Miles tho. He's not as eager to please as Ustemuf's mum but he's definietly more attractive.
  • 29 7
Eeeeeerrrr....wrong. The Coastal Crew rides for the big S.
  • 92 6
Ye I mean specialized only have Darren Berrecloth Matt Hunter Kenny Smith Martin soderstrom Matty Miles Mitch Ropelato Kyle Norbs Dylan Dunkerton and Curt Robinson not that great I suppose....
  • 27 5
 aaron gwin , troy brosnan?
  • 6 6
how many people of spec are in the fest series?
  • 2 5
 both downhill racers... not freeriders?
  • 7 0
Matt hunter and Matty miles were the two at the first fest series I think Matty Miles won best style with Ryan howard im pretty sure

Brendog is clearly a Free-Racer, a racer who steezes the shisnit out of all the features on the course. While scots team have steezy riders who cross disciplines, I would say that the big S has Riders who arguably are at the top of their respective disciplines/ riding styles… but all of these guys have tremendous skill on the bike and are way better than I.
  • 3 5
So would the ultimate cherry on the top be snagging Elliot Jackson from Pivot?
  • 6 9
 How about the pivot team?

 @donch15

Didn't the Coastal crew used to ride Gambler's and Voltages before they went to the Big S. I don't really know the reasons why they parted company.
  • 8 3
i guess they left for money... kinda like gwin leaving trek
  • 6 4
So I get neg props for saying a team with black Brendog, Kerr with his ultimate whip steeze and Gattobooty are def up for the Steeziest team?!!
If you'd like to form an orderly que theres a corner over there where you can all go have a word with yaselves!
  • 5 2
And i get neg propped for saying gwin and brosnan are downhillers, and that gwin left trek because specialized payed him more, and the guy who pinted that out (comment to the article when gwin made the move) got propped massively...

No, you got a neg prop for reffering uselessly to a topic that you know is a controversial topic on PinkBike.

  • 2 4
sorry boys but specialized still have the best riders Wink don't forget about the badass freeriders too hahahah Beer
but Brendog is my fav stylish rider of all time for sure
  • 31 2
 Brendog is the MANNN!

That big hip/wallride/half berm thing is one of the coolest features I have seen.
  • 9 0
That's Nico Vink shaping that stuff with the Chatel crew. The other lines are equally creative and much bigger.
  • 10 6
Which means more gaps? Great for pros but it sucks for everyone else. It's why me and my friends never go back to PDS, great trails ruined by zillions of gap jumps and not a single table to be found anywhere. I would rather travel half way around the world and go to whistler than to ride my own back yard. At least in whistler you have a chance to warm up to the jumps instead of casing it and going to the hospital on your first run.
  • 2 0
Boardlife69: Most bike park does not have a good track with big jumps. I like similar lines.
  • 2 1
errrrr. PDS is mostly tables is it not?
  • 4 2
I would argue that there is not enough trails with gap jumps around, plenty of tame trails with rollable table/doubles , which the lips get ruined on cos people roll them and braking bumps on run ups/lips cos people are given the option of not jumping it properly.

Long live the gap jump !
  • 2 1
If there only is gap jumps just hit them ... and make sure you clear them first time Razz

Vinny T has the sickest steeze. Brendog might have a competitor... Wink

The old voltage FR was and still is my favourite bike ever, simply because it was so versatile from full DH rig to 4" Slopestyle by changing the shock mounts. Has the new one got replaceable shock mounts ? It doesn't look that way from the photos.
  • 4 1
Agreed. I think the new voltage is pretty slick, but I think Scott may have slightly shot themselves in the foot on this one :/ In the past many people were wanting the voltage to be more dh....now they got it, but in trade they got less versatility Frown I always thought the voltage when setup with long dropouts, 9.5x3 rear shock and a dual crown did pretty well on the rough stuff...still not a full blown DH rig...but thats what the Gambler is for... Smile Just my thoughts.

 That hip jump!

 +1

Holy crap no half shells with goggles no 29 or 650b, just an awesome 26 DH free ride vid on PB? The world must be ending...Wink sick vid. Scott's bikes and team are dope gotta go ride. Yeah boiii
  • 4 0
Only Nico Vink was on 26 wheels everyone else was on 27.5...
  • 2 1
Well so much for that then huh. Haha thanks SF
  • 2 1
 sorry to burst your bubble...
  • 2 1
It's all good don't care what people ride as long as they ride more than they stare at PB or bikes they are made to feel like they need. But thanks for busting my bubble..lol
  • 2 1
Are you really running a 24 on the back of your status?
  • 2 1
Lately I've been running 27.5 front wheel with a 26in rear but sometimes I go back to my old setup with 26in front and 24in rear. It makes the bike more agile and lower to the ground.
  • 2 0
Seeing the voltage go everywhere the gambler went with what I thought was more pop and maneuverability one must question the need for the extra travel the gambler has to offer. Unless you're racing techy dh trail voltage for park riding all day.
  • 3 0
Uh oh..... People have started using the term "free racer" I hope this doesn't go enduro.....
  • 1 1
 Never buy a voltage!!!
The frame always cracks. I have been riding whistler for the last 3 years and every season my voltage frame has cracked!
Got a 2015 720 and after 10- 15 days in the park it cracked at the head tube just like the old design.
There is an obvious flaw with the frame design/manufacture so just steer clear
