We are starting this out with Jeremy Tenisch. He is the most motivating guy to ride with, he has a ton of energy and is always positive, so all you can do is be the same way and try and keep up while following him on the trail cause he doesn't stop when the trail forks! Hopefully you will catch his happy vibe from this video and want to go shred!
"I never knew why every spring when I tried to ride the local trails they were snow damaged and covered in downed trees, then the next week they were all buff and perfect. As if someone went out, everyday, to build and maintain every trail I love. I always threw that idea away because no one in Merritt would be THAT stoked to build every day. So the tires kept turnin...
One weekend early this fall Matt and Karl came to my little hick town to make a video. You can be the judge of how it turned out, pree deece if ya ask me! And after they left I continued my vacation from work, riding every day in one of BC's hidden meccas. Not a bad life at all.
It was only a few days after Matt and Karl left that I met the one responsible for all the fun, Chris Post. After that I started following him on every digging adventure and ride day I could, as the two always come hand in hand. It didn't take me long to realize who made every single trail in this video, often from scratch and with little help. It takes a special kind of person to go out every day to build trails everyone can enjoy.
Chris taught me a lot about mountain biking, I no longer have the urge to ride bike parks, they're always beat to shit! Who ever wants brake bumps and crowed trails say I...gotta love the silence. Throughout fall, Chris showed me the gnarliest, buffest, flowiest, fastest, steepest shit I have ever ridden in my life and every line was natural and fresh! These fresh, flowy trails helped my bike never break once! I mean I only had 3/4 of a pedal, my fork seals were long blown and the bike makes noises not even the CAFE can understand, but considering what shape my bike needs to be in for me to bring it into the shop, that's good shape. Also, he showed me that in order to enjoy this high caliber of riding, you must work for it. Every day, except saturday, is a build day with a 50% chance of a ride, often with a pack sack loaded with beer, lunch and tools. Chris even has a mini BBQ set up half way down one of the trails he's building (definitely the sickest, almost complete trail I've ridden in my life), so we could have mid mountain burgers or hot dogs. That's dedication.
If you know someone like Chris, thank them, they are what make the world of bikes turn. Unless you're like me, where you show appreciation by bumming rides, drinkin' all their Luckys and smokin' all their treats. This one's to you Chris! CHEERS!"
