SRAM pART Project - NYC

by SRAM

Here’s a box of 100 SRAM high-performance bike components. Now make something of it. That’s the challenge SRAM lays down for groups of noted, hand-selected artists. The works they create are displayed and auctioned off with all proceeds from auctions being donated to World Bicycle Relief.

World Bicycle Relief serves people in underdeveloped regions of the world who suffer from lack of access to health care, education, and economic opportunity. With a bicycle you can travel four times farther, carry five times more, and save up to three hours a day in travel time (based on a 10-mile commute). So you can get to a doctor, to school, or to work faster and more safely. Doors closed by distance are now opened, as is the way to a better life.

They should rather give that box of 100 SRAM high-performance bike components to me. You can't make anything better or more beautiful than bicycle of it anyway...

I imagine a lot of these are rejected parts off the manufacturing line.

All Sram parts should be rejected. Straight off the manufacturing line and into the garbage.

"Freewheeling captures the empowerment, freedom, and joy of cycling"

And kinda captures the feeling of ejecting off your bike with your seat jamed up your butt.

Check out the 'free wheeling' sculpture on the website. Easily the most symbolic, well-made and elegant.
