Admit it. At least once, recently, in your mountain biking career, you’ve thought it would be a good idea to race an enduro. Or maybe you’ve raced a local event and are considering stepping up to an Enduro World Series event. And maybe, since racing an EWS is going to require travel for most people, the idea of combining an enduro with a trip to the most awesome mountain bike festival in the world seems like the way to go.

But how do you do it? What’s the inside info?

You’re in luck. Yoann Barelli, your favorite Whistler-local Frenchman, is here to answer all your questions — as well as a whole bunch you’ve probably never ever thought about.

Rule 1.1: if you are Richie Rude and the others are too slow, get a flat and ride the stage on your rim. Then win every other stage and win the race

"Dominoes, Mountain Dew..." HA! For real, though, sweet vid. I was just thinking of bitching out on Saturday's race, then I watched this. It's gonna be a shitshow, but it's probably gonna be fun.

That was outstanding. If only I had discovered mtb ten to fifteen years earlier. Racing enduro or downhill would be a freaking blast.

 I dunno.....
Beginning to feel like I am the target of some joke now. I have been mountain biking since I was 13. So 22 years mountain biking. Always did the usual thing. Riding my bike, dicking about, dirt jumps, DH, trials, street, it was all the same thing to us.
Years have passed, I lost touch but always rode a bike.
Got back into it last year balls deep like. My DH bike had been stolen so I bought a hardtail trying to be realistic about my future. Did some xc races but was very much faster downhill than uphill. Turns out Enduro was a thing and I did my first Enduro this year and I loved it. Did about 50% better than any xc races anyway.
Turns out Enduro is some big inside joke though. But there you go. Thanks guys

Nice video, so it's easy now! But the most important is just that ride enduro is just pure fun!

Having recently raced enduro, super d and downhill all I can say is: don't suck.
  • 2 0
Hilariously, in the last week or so, I've considered trying enduro.
  • 1 2
When I was younger I probably would have been all over that. I rode up part of a mountain awhile back with my enduro bike friends, with my dirt jumper, and wow it sucked, I'd rather just drink all the time.

Man, that makes me want to try enduro!
