Miranda Miller: “I was having a pretty good run, I think. I was feeling pretty good — a few little mistakes but nothing major. And then I just kind of came into a corner where you have to turn across a rock, and it was covered in loose dust and dirt and I just…it was one of those crashes that happens instantly — you don’t feel it coming.
“And then, yeah, I slid down on my back for a bit, and then got up and was kind of — I don’t know…I went through waves of like, it’s over, and then oh, no, still push….
“It’s pretty disappointing. This is one race I definitely want to do well in. I mean…you want to do well in every race, but this one just means a little bit more.”
SRAM: Tell us about that — why does this mean a little bit more?
MM: “It’s pretty close to home. I live in Squamish, and it’s always been…an iconic race for me. Growing up watching Stevie [Smith] win it all the time…I’ve never won it, and I want to be one of those people who win it.
“Yeah…always next year.”
Miranda's Specialized S-Works Demo 8 is powered by a SRAM X01 DH drivetrain, rolls on SRAM X0 hubs, and has a TRUVATIV Descendant Steve Smith CoLab handlebar up front. Avid Code brakes give her the control she needs, while a RockShox BoXXer World Cup, and RockShox Vivid Air keep the rough stuff in check.

Good on ya! Also am I the only one who thinks that she looks like the girl version of Stevie Smith? Wishing her all the best and #longlivechainsaw - such a shame he's not there this weekend. :-(
@MasterOfStone: Agree. Miller would be the perfect complement to Troy. Specialized would be wise to pick her up and get a women on the team. Would do wonders for the mfg title as well.
Thank you SRAM! I've been waiting so long for another steps to the top! Always great music in these!
I just love her quote - "I kinda like it... cause it's .. it's pretty scary. It's on the edge of being that good kinda scary and where you're just scared."
She's also a super sweet person! I stopped into Corsa as a touron from the states and she was kind and helpful in recommending the trails that would suit my ability and not pretentious at all! Highly recommend that shop and wish the best for her!
She would be a podium regular if she had a factory ride, with all the training opportunities, physio, mechanics etc… I mean, she's doing it without 100% support, so just imagine with it.
Devinci or Rocky need to step up for a classy Canadian.
I see the potential in her to beat Rachel or at least battle for podiums on a regular basis. She has the size to be really strong physically and although that doesn't always seem to be the factor but I see something in her and I'm looking forward to her getting more confident and better next year. She is worthy of a factory ride for sure.

Damn tear jerker! Go get em next year Miller!
