The Switchback has been in development for the last 2 years and has been designed for those of us who like to ride trail centres with friends and get wild on the the Black Runs, then go race Gravity Enduro's and Mini DH on the weekends. When it came to shooting the video for this hooligan of a frame we thought who better to take it for a play than our resident 4X racer, Luke 'Limbo' Limbrick. We met up with Luke at the Forest of Dean, we knew he'd arrived because of the unmistakable burble from his supped-up stealth black 400brake Mitsubishi Evo. After a few obligatory mistimed high fives, Luke suggested we go "smash the granny out of it". I took this to mean thrash the trail and the bike and shoot a great vid, so with Joe from Capta media, me and Luke went up through the forest and this was the result!

Please enjoy the vid and if you're interested in the frame here is a link:

I wouldn't mind seeing a proper video of that bike because it's an awesome looking bike. That was like watching Top of the Pops in the eighties when producers used to chuck every shit camera trick in the book into the mix.

I actually really enjoyed it. Apart from maybe it was a bit heavy on the jiggling up and down nonsense. Not that they shoulda removed it completely, just maybe halved the amount they used it. But yeh, I thought it was a good vid. Way more fun to watch than that jono jones/tld vid. That was a great vid too but the porno soundtrack was dull. This was way more exciting.

 found it unwatchable.

Wow that video was awful! Stanton on the other hand, my Slackline was the best all round bike I've ever owned, hands down. Had to sell it to pay for my wedding, pretty sure I should've just dumped the Mrs

 pretty sure you should have..

Same dude. I'd rather chop my left nut off than get rid of mine

Subliminal advertising, didn't work just gave me a head ache. Looking forward to the Slackline however.

That was horrible. Luckily I was able to re-watch the 26 ain't dead video to bring my levels of stoke back up to 11....

Every time I see someone riding a steel hardtail, especially as badass as that, I instantly regret selling my Cotic Soul...

been riding my Switchback for several months now, both here in the U.K. and in Whistler, & I have to say it is a dream of a ride. Whether riding the Lost Lake trails, the aptly named "27 Switchbacks" or the joys of "Binty's Epic" the Stanton just ate them up better than any hardtail I have ever ridden before. The super slack (for a hardtail) angles make descending on this bike an amazing experience and its also climbs very well.
My Stanton Switchback certainly got people admiring and talking in Whistler with the best comment coming from the guys at Evolution Bikes, "So that's the British Chromag then"
If you are looking to replace or just get yourself a hardtail this winter that will put a grin on your face straight through until summer, this is the bike for you.
Just be careful, you may not want to get the big bike out again...

Mr lynes how do chap,, i have to say after having a quick spin on your Stanton it does feel like a stylus very similar in deedy. Have to agree with some of the others to this vid is terrible my 2 year old could of done better with his fisher price camera and tablet.

indeed you are right, the video really does not do justice to an amazing bike. how's the post-Whistler blues treating you? It's hard to find inspiration to ride here after such a brilliant time in heaven. fancy getting together for a spin in the not to distant future?
  • 1 0
Yeah the blues have defo set in not been on a bike since coming home, was straight back into work and that's about it. Will defo have to hook up for a ride soon,. Need to get out to save what little sanity I have.

That is definitely the most annoying shittest promo bike video I've ever seen. Thank f*ck I'm not epileptic! Could of been with being deaf though. I keep hearing 'YEAH' FOD this FOD that, can't wait to get my bike to shred FOD. You could ride that stuff on a 26" apollo from Halfolds. Im not slating the bike, I'm sure its class. I have a slackline, its awesome and rides down pretty much anything. I really think this video could of been produced a lot better, and in a better location than the average crap sunday trail rider destination

Was that a promo video for Stanton bikes, or did I just have a panic attack?

P.S. You make some of my favourite bikes Dan, just please find someone other than Capta Media to produce your promo videos! For example, Cut Media + Limbo + Switchback Ti = pure epicness.

Actually have a migraine i think after that video! GREAT BIKE though, so almost worth it. So then i thought, i fancy a new hardtail, i'll have a butchers at the link. Now i know i'm going to probably get slaughtered for this, but hey everyone is allowed their opinion. I love the bike, it looks like great great fun, i do want one, BUT, the Full Build on the Stanton website (which this is likely to be an example of) is just a couple of hundred notes shy of £3000. Now it look and sounds like its an amazing lot of fun, and you could build it up with parts you have etc or out of a bike you already own and that makes the £550 just for the frame probably quite good. But if you want a full build would you really part with nigh on £3K for a hardtail no matter how good it was??

Would of enjoyed that if it wasn't for all the flickering nonsense.

That video gave me a seizure. Of Awesome.

I liked it! FOD motorway section, clearing them gaps on a hard tail is pretty rad! I only just cleared them on my alpine160! Best get shopping at Biketart.com Saturday. Hard tail for the autumn, winter, spring,Full sus summer, Job done.

Even reading the comments beforehand did nothing to prepare my retinas for the lashing they received. It's a fine bike but I'll be jiggered if I could make it out. God DAMN they be some brutal effects.
  • 1 0
Haha...read the comments first, thought no Stanton always make good vids...I made me nauseous! Awsome ridding though would love to have seen a proper vid!

It looks like you could stick that fella on a halfords bike and he'd make it look awesome
  • 2 0
Ahhh my eyes, I couldn't focus with all the wobbling around....keep it raw.

Possibly looks a bit sped up in places!

what part of FOD IS this ?
  • 1 0
basically a montage of the DH runs
  • 3 0
Cheers, the DH runs ive done at FOD all seem a lot gnarlier than this video, guess it always does when your clinging on for dear life
  • 7 1
3rd vid of FOD in a week, popularity is growing
  • 4 1
Can't get enough of FOD one of the best places in this side of the country.
  • 3 0
@kwyn, I agree. Rode fod this summer on a 7" mini dh bike and thought it was pretty brutal. Maybe they have re-surfaced some of the tracks. The newer bottom section is definitely a step in the 'park' direction.
  • 1 0
yeah the bottom open area surrounding the bottom of TGBU is defo more park. But I think its just hard to show differences in gradient and scale in a video like this, especially as its a fair way from the huge bike parks of BC that we're used to seeing.
