Massive highs and huge lows for Steve Peat.

Check out Episode 3 this Friday for the full story...

On record, this will probably go down as one of his worst World Cup seasons to date, in terms of results...

Zipline

But off the circuit and even off the bike, Peaty has been and done some amazing things during 2012.

Floatin

We take a look behind the scenes in Hafjell, Norway, the last World Cup of 2012 and why Steve couldn't carry his practice speed into this race run.

Full on in Thailand...
Nothing's better than a happy ending, so we went to Thailand to get one... Amazing trails, food and people... A crazy local race, long jump contests, muay thai fighting... what a trip, all thanks to X-Biking Chiang Mai.

We hope you've enjoyed This Is Peaty Season 1. Here's to 2013.

Cheers!

Props to the Thai guy who sent it at the end.

Yeah that treehugger eclipsed everyone including Steve! I wish i could do that..

How lucky was that guy who done a no hander to tree smash ! I thought he was brown bread for sure !
  • + 10
I'm sure his trousers were brown after it.
  • + 6
I'm pleased to report that the tree hugger came away completely unharmed, and was handed a bottle of whiskey and a signed copy of Peaty's book for his efforts afterwards. Good times.

That huck competition was fucking Gnar! In such a tight space and sending it so far , looked really sketchy.
  • + 3
Was thinking the same. You mess up the take off and you're in the weeds in a bad way.

That looked like so much fun ! damn Thailand may become a new name on my shred-there-one-day list ... Big Grin

worst season to date? damn that's a lot of years of consistently destroying it.
  • + 4
cus hes the best in the world!
  • - 12
was... pretty sure gwin takes the title or minnaar if you use the rainbow jersey as the best in the world
  • + 9
Well.... there's a difference between being the best throughout an entire career and being the best currently. I have to agree that Gwin (def. my favorite to watch right now) and Minnaar are next level destroyers and are taking DH to the next level, they're younger and haven't been around or racked up a fraction of Peaty's accomplishments so really they're not comparable... not yet anyways.

thats what i meant in response to denvers comment, either peaty or nico take the title for the best downhillers ever but he's certainly not the top guy right now for this season only

I think the secret is within mutton chops, seems to be working for Peaty and Wiggins! Such an awesome rider, although he had the worst luck this season, i reckon he was gonna crack the podium! Great riding too by locals, thailand seems have an awesome little mtb community.

 So cool! Peaty's a legend!!!
  • + 6
More than that, he's an inspiration to a generation of DHs who don't consider that being tall, drinking beer and being the wrong side of thirty should be an impediment to having fun on (and off) a bike.
  • + 1
Whats wrong being on the wrong side of thirty?? Smile
  • + 1
Nothing. Everyone is until they get old enough to be on the right side of it...
  • + 2
It's not the wrong side of thirty more just the other side of thirty. Ha listen to me I'm nearly the wrong side if forty and still lovin it !!!
