@zjp2000: yes for sure. But he s not in last year's top 10 or top 12 rampage finishers so he s not (yet) assured to ride in Virgin, Utah this year.. ! I cross my fingers!
Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

My Mom can't watch theses guys ha ha, my Dad's blown away. They're both in their 70's, I just love it. Makes me look forward to getting out at my local spots, and hitting a few senders. I'm 50 in November! Keep em' coming Fest Crew, and Pinkbike, you make us old riders very happy!!
Can someone please clue me in as to why so many high level riders are now riding without gloves? I have mulled it over in my mind for at least five minutes now and can't come up with a decent answer. It allows for a more intimate connection with the bike? You like scraping the skin off your hands after a wreck and putting it in a Ziploc bag to later remind your grandchildren just how rad you were? Or is that one badass did it in a video, and now other badasses/want to be badasses figure it must be the proper thing to do?
Your rambling inquiry makes it sound like you already have decided why other people don't wear gloves, but I suppose I'll bite and give you a reason... Gloves bunch up on the palm and compromise the surface contact to the grip of the bar. Even very tight gloves inevitably bunch up. Your hands and feet are the main contact points to your bike and they need to ideal, otherwise your focus might be misdirected away from the task at hand- riding your bike. Today's handlebar grips provide great traction for bare hands allowing you to ride without gloves. The only true hindrance is sweat, and if that isn't an issue, then to each their own. I don't wear gloves on bike or moto, and when I crash I don't try to post up- I prefer to roll with it. So no ziploc bags necessary
