Opinion - Tag, You're It!
Agree with you @mikelevy. Social media is, and in its short existence, always has been an advertising platform, it's just the people with accounts aren't advertising products, they're advertising themselves. So for this reason, I can understand pros using their social media accounts to give shout outs to sponsors, no doubt they have obligations to do so. I'm sure many of them dislike doing it, and the fastest way to fulfill their obligation is to put up an insta post with all sponsors on it, then share that on Twitter and Facebook. It might not look that good, but most pros didn't become pros because of their innovative social media skills. As for anyone else that isn't sponsored, or work for the marketing team of these companies, I can't for the life of me figure out why they'd do marketing for free...

Results: DH World Cup, Fort William - Finals
Open letters are narcissism at its finest. Instead of confronting a person or organisation head on, you're just telling the world what you'd say if you were face to face (or maybe you wouldn't even have the guts to say it to their face...) with them. They're generally spread via social media and are done to garner likes, not to sort out issues. I'd much rather see Syndicate go the route they are going. The rebel team angle is much better marketing for their team and their sponsors than some heart felt "please, I promise we'll change, we're sorry" pussy letter to an organisation that is more worried about matching tshirts than team spirit and the good vibes of DH racing. #notatradecommenter

EWS Bike Check: Greg Callaghan's Cube Stereo
Classic. Bet when this gets released to the general public the marketing spin won't be "sorry, our bad we were wrong to go to 15mm, please forgive us..." It'll be something about added rigidity, and weight savings and blah blah blah...

First Look: iXS Xult Full Face Helmet
It's obvious why though. D3's and Rampages fly off the shelf @ $300-600! Meanwhile, 661, Bluegrass, Fly, iXS etc are hustling to get $200-300 for their wares. Sure brand credibility/reputation play into it a lot, but its not a bad move by other helmet brands to imitate... Or have I completely missed a "Looks like a session" joke?
