bigquotesIt was amazing, aside from getting stung by forty bees and having the flu, but what these guys do - this is next level!
- Kevin Walsh

The 2016 Trans-Cascadia wrapped up on Monday as a group of slow moving, hungover stragglers at basecamp had one last breakfast together. No one wanted the party to end; from the good times on bikes with the epic views and virtually untouched trails to the camaraderie of basecamp, the late night fires, and the even later drinks, it was hard to say goodbye. Trans-Cascadia was created to bring awareness and resources to the trails around Oakridge and McKenzie in Oregon - and from that has evolved a community. 100 people left the event on Monday with new friendships, renewed friendships, and stories that they will tell over and over.

Registration for the 2017 Trans-Cascadia opens on October 17 - the 2016 race sold out in 10 minutes - don't miss out!

bigquotesThe best part of the weekend was running into friends that I met last year and got to be reunited with, I met new friends, hung out with old friends - and then there was also racing, and that was really fun too!

bigquotesDarrin Seeds and Alex Gardner came up with the 'Go Hard' concept as a way to highlight the individuals who were leading the charge in all aspects of the event. Last year there were many people who threw caution to the wind, and almost put the racing as a secondary focus behind purely enjoying every minute of the event. So they really wanted a way to highlight these individuals; the ones who are pure soul riders. It's about racing, partying, camaraderie, sportsmanship, and so much more. This is one of the things that really have defined this event for me. It is so clearly different than every other event I've been to.

bigquotesIt's all based around good vibes here, it's definitely a really fun event for the end of the year; a good amount of unreal trails, good racing, and a good party to finish off a long season!

Holy sh*t! Just got a new priority VERY high on the list!

And #8 is killing it on the no footer, dual sided, little-to-no-air whip!

@parisgore killing it (again) with his photography. Cannot imagine how much moving around you did just setup all those different shots!

It's nice there are still places in this world where you can see the stars like that.

That seems to be really amazing, would be nice to do something like that in the future Smile .

Flying there from Europe for only 4 days of riding sounds quite overkill for me. On the other hand I'm not sure I'll resist the temptation...

You'd have to be an Enduro maniac to do something like that! Oh wait

What is that shock on Barry Wicks' (#8 getting feet off and sideways!) process 111? Looks like it has a piggy back?
  • 1 1
 Looks like an MRP Raze.
  • 1 1
@TucsonDon: Hmm.. It definitely looks like it. The 111 takes a 7.25x1.75" shock size and the smallest size listed on the MRP website is 7.875x2". Maybe a custom size for the Kona team? I want a coil piggy back for my 111!!!!

Somehow he got a coiler on his 111, and what looks like a 140 fork. Gnerly!
